She says she is ashamed of the neighbours, she refuses to go out, even to see a doctor, she always says she will go out next month, next year, when she feels better, loses some weight etc. There is nothing we didn't try, we are all very worried, she even stopped seeing her friends, only her husband, 2 daughters and a son-in-law and so on.

What are we going to do? Are we supposed to call an ambulance and force her to go to a hospital? I mean, she is going to have to see some psychologists, right? But she does not want to, she hates the idea of going to a hospital.

Any advice?

My mom had a breast reduction on 10-18.
She had a spot under one that didn't look right so she went to see her surgeon. The doc says it is healing but from inside out. She wrote a prescription for a saline wash to be applied and left on the wound.Mom is to change this 3 or4 times a day but leave it on there? How is this helping? Now it just looks red and raw where as before it had a whitish color. We just dont get how keeping it wet even with saline is helping it heal but the doc put like 5 refills on a liter bottle of this saline wash. Just doesn't make since. Can anyone explain?

My Mother died on Aug. 1 this year. I can't seem to get over it. I take Xanax for this plus Lexapro. I seem to do good one day and the next I'm a mess. Sometimes I feel like I'm fighting my self from going over the brink. Don't know how else to explain that. Now, I find myself not calling my sisters like I always did. They keep calling to check on me I think. I just don't want to be around anyone ever. And that's hard when you have a husband and kids. I just don't feel like myself and I'm afraid I'll never be the same again. Such a big part of my life is gone forever. Should I tell my doctor when I go back on Monday that unless I have the Xanax, I STILL can't cope? Does it normally take this long? I keep thinking that he isn't going to let me take these meds very long. Don't know. Never took these before. Am I not doing something right? And I feel like it's all exploding again with the holidays coming and no Mother. Advice?

The Men' Health section seems to be frequented mostly by 12 year olds who are only conserned with penis size and masturbation. I thought under age perticipants were against community rules. Comments?

For the past 5 years I've been experiencing muscle spasms. It started with a twitch in my eyelid and spasms in my hand. Now my muscle spasms are quite painful and are widespread they occur anywhere and everywhere including my back, neck, arms, legs, stomach, head and it is very painful especially when it gets to my back and neck. Over the past year it has gotten considerably more frequent and worse. I've seen a neurologist about this plus a few other problems (headaches, numbness in arms hands, and burning sensations). I've had a CT scan, checked for electrolytes, vitamin deficiencies, dehydration, thyroid problems, and everything has come up normal except protein in my urine a few times (but not every time). What could be causing this?

I am getting ready to start taking Paxil today, has it worked for you? I was taking Lexapro, but had to switch to something else due to the expense of the Lexapro...feedback on Paxil would be great!!!

hey, i'm 18years old and it's been about two weeks before i had my period and i've started bleeding slightly. My periods, after years of irregularity (it would often not appear for months),have this year become regular except for now. Apparently bleeding in between periods can be normal so should i not be worried? I'm not on the pill or birth control. Apparently stress can cause it and i'm in the middle of my final year of school exams but i don't actually feel stressed... I lost my virginity about about a month ago now and have had sex a few times since then using protection, that woudln't have anything to do with it would it? Sex doesn't hurt me anymore and i know when you lose your virginity you can bleed a bit but i think i should be over that stage by now...

so fast with ever step I took, and when I got home I looked on the pad I was wearing as I wear pad running becasue I have had 4 kids and I have a weak bladder, and I looked at the pad and it had lots of dark green diarea on it grouse. and then I went to the toilet after I got back and passed muddy diarea in the toilet. YUCK. This happens about 8 times out of 10 when I run. I cannot stand it. In 2005 and last year I had bowel cancer, and about 7 months ago I was given the all clear and my symtoms had all gone. Now it has only been about 3 months or so most of the time I run this happens and I am worried. I am now very ill, and I am on antibiotics as it feels like I have a virus or an infection. My body is too dam tired and a day takes so much out of me now, and I feel run down now. This diarea that is exesive only happens when I run like I said, could this be the cancer returning. I am a 38 year old female and need advice please.I was told the antibiotics will not do anything.

Someone I know has been raped. She is 15. She is now suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, (PTSD), a condition that leaves her with insominia, terrifying flashbacks, insecurity and depression. She has recently begun to cut herself. In an ideal situation, she would have informed her parents. This is impossible, for very real reasons, which I can't discuss, but its really not an option. Now the only people she can turn to are her school friends, and we don't really know what to do. She needs treatment for the PTSD, so what is the best way of going about this? Confidentiality is paramount. Can she go to her gp in confidence? Can she get free treatment for PSTD (treatment would involve cognitive behavioural therapy and possible antidepressants, although she is keen to avoid drugs) on the NHS, and can it be done without informing her parents? Please help, her life is in pieces.
