Please give advise on the diet that worked best for you. There are so many different things out there. I am trying to lose 45 lbs. Six kids has really taken a toll on my body. I am 33 and my metabolism is obviously slowing down. Losing lbs is not as easy for me as it used to be! It really sucks! I have been walking and joined a gym, but now I really need a meal plan that will not make me miserable or broke, but at the same time, actually works!

I play volleyball and I've noticed lately that whenever we serve a lot or hit a lot it really starts to hurt. I only have five pound weights so maybe something using that; any exercises that have worked for you? Or.. whenever I take ibuprofen like a half hour before I go, I'm fine. Should I just do that?

No desire, just a question.

I was under the assumption that steroids help the body recover faster from working out. Is that true? I also thought that if you take steroids, but do no physical activity, you won't see results. Is that true?

example:

normally you did benchpresses on day 1, then rested for 3 days before benching again. But with steroids, you could bench everyday, and not need the 3 days rest. True or false?

First let me mention that my partner (this is her acct though) is a 11yr migraine sufferer. We came out of town to visit her mother. She started suffering a migraine & her meds were not working, so I took her to the ER. Now this is a small town. Not even 5000. The Dr. didn't even come into the hospital to check my partner but said he would give her such and such a medicine. I said no because it doesn't work for her. So we left the hospital with no availe, however she has gotten the proper treatment from this hospital in years past but they wouldn't give it to her this time. She hasn't been there in years. She gets relief from Nubain 10mg, Tordal 60mg, & Phenergan 50mg. Through trial and error this is what us and her family Dr. have found to work the best. The next closest hospital is 30min away. So when we got to her mothers, I called the ER back & complained some. The nurse suggested that I get ahold of her family Dr to call the ER. So I called the clinic &

Presciption-strength Aleve and other over-the-counter headache medication has had no effect. She's had an EEG, CAT scan, and MRI of the head, neck, and chest. All the blood work came back normal. Yet, her headaches continue on a daily basis and have become more and more frequent over the past three years. They start upon rising out of bed in the mornings. Sometimes they are in the front of her head, sometimes on both sides, sometimes on the back, sometimes pounding, and sometimes there is an intense pressure (squeezing) sensation. The family physician thought that the headaches were due to stress/depression and put her on Wellbrutin. The neurologist thought that the headaches were migrains and has put her on 50 mg of Topamax (4th week and no improvement). The rheumatologist thought that it was Lupus but has since ruled that out. She sees a chiropractor and physical therapist twice per week with no improvement. Anyone have any other suggestions? We are at our wits-end here!

I've had a pain in my ankle on the inside part of my leg for about a month now. I'm not sure what it is? It's not a constant pain, it just is like a jolt of pain every so often when I am walking, or maybe pushing something heavy at work. The pain is so great it almost brings me to my knees! I can be walking along, and BAM, a quick jolt of pain in my ankle! I've tried icing it at night, but that's not helping. Does anyone know what this is, and how can I get it to go away!

I have really severe, really sudden mood swings. Like, one minute I'm giddy and laughing hysterically, and then not five minutes later I'm ready to cry because I'm so depressed. I do that all the time, but with a huge range of different emotions that I get. Does this sound like anything I can get help for?

My Grandmother, age 86 was hospitalized four days ago with muscle cramps, blood test showed low magnesuim, everything else within okay boundries, they have been giving her a 3 inch x 5 inch (not sure of liquid measurement) IV bag of Magnesuim sulfate. They will test her levels one hour after the IV drip is complete and her level is within normal scale... 12 hrs later, NO magnesuim will show up in her blood test. Where does all of this magnesium go to??? They have been repeating this proceedure for days now. All other health issues have been ruled out. Not Diabetic, has high blood pressure, but controlled with meds, other then that, VERY HEALTHY 86 year old. Eats logical diet, active, great weight.... had great stress test and echo test results today.. she is just making bags of magnesuim disappear.

Yesterday was my birthday dinner. I invited my brother, sisters and niece, nephews, kids. I did not invite my sister. She refuses to give her phone number out to any of us, and says she is protecting herself from our harrasing phone calls.
My brother and I were discussing her at dinner last nite and she has not given her phone number to him or my other sister either.
The last phone call I received from her was about a month ago when she called me at work to tell me I was a *****. I am not able to call her back, so I decided to block her calls on my phone. In other words, if a "restricted" call comes to my cell phone, it doesnt ring. My brother says he is going to do the same.
Should we be more patient with her? She has mental problems for many years. I believe even though she has mental problems, this does not excuse her from blocking her phone number from all 5 of her siblings. Not appropriate.
