sparkpeople.com should be able to answer all your questions (or at the very least, #'s 1, 2 and 4!)

Its a free website that can provide you with an optional meal plan and fitness program, guidance as to how many calories you need to eat based on your height, weight, goals and activity level, plus lots of resources on fitness and healthy eating.

(and tell them isabellaj sent you! :) )

This is what I did and I have dropped 10 lbs. I take a 30 minute brisk walk every night. I work out 20 minutes with Mari Winsor Pilates. It is the best one out there. Every other night is good enough. It is distributed by Guthy Reinker. I swear by it. You may not think 10 is a lot but that was all I needed to lose. It is an easy program for those of us who are not coordinated enough for all that other jazz. I swear you will look and feel better within 2 weeks.

As for the diet, my advice is this:
Don't. Instead, eat breakfast that consists of a fruit for natural sugar boost energy, some nuts and maybe some yogurt.
Snack on nuts when you are hungry
Eat a salad for lunch with a wheat roll bun and a well balanced dinner. Don't eat after 7 and skip dessert. It's hard, but after awhile you won't even miss it and occasionally you can indulge. Also, drink lotsa water.

question 2 and 3 are pretty open questions. I'll answer question 1 and 4: Cutting calories is does not work well for weight management. This causes loss of muscle mass, which you regain as fat. What you need is a low glycemic approach to eating...control your glycemic levels and you cut body fat rather than muscle mass.

Take a look a the Transitions Lifestyle System. Go here and click the "transitions" button: http://www.marketamerica.com/pulse99/

Also get this book....It explains the Glycemic Index and how it affects your body composition.
