could be result of anaesthetic or poison dripping down the throat.... certainly get it checked out at earliest opportunity if it persists..... some good fun company could help to take your mind of the discomfort too....this seems good to me.... take care... hope it resolves soon..

I did not have that experience, but it is likely nothing to worry about - unless you develop a temperature. If the sore throat persists till Monday, call your dentist first thing Monday morning. If you develop a fever of 100 or higher, call your dentist immediately or go to the ER - you may have strep, and you don't want to risk the interplay between a fresh surgical wound and a dangerous bacterial infection.

I`d say thats` normal, especially if you had a abscess under the tooth, you possibly had a lot of `poison` running down the back of your throat as the tooth was pulled out. If it persists, return to the dentist for some antibiotics, or at least let him check it .

If you had a general anesthetic it could be from the tube they put down your throat, if not it may be referred pain, or something coincidental and not related to your tooth at all.
Take what ever pain med you usually take (I like Aleve or regular aspirin) and gargle with salt water. If it persists, call the dentist.

yes this can be normal. your teeth can set off sinus drainage and maybe even a little inflammation. just keep lots of fluids in you and watch to make sure that the sore throat does not lag on to long. maybe a day or two tops. If it does go see your primary physician it may have caused a little bit of infection from to much sinus drainage.

When I had mine out I had to live on soup for a week after. But I had four out under general anaesthetic in a hospital operating theatre.
Yours sound like less of an operation.
I should get it checked out for infection

If you had anesthesia, they probably put a tube down your throat, that would give you the sore throat.
