My boyfriend's son is 12 and was just diagnosed. He has been in the hospital for 4 days now. He will go home tomorrow. The classes have taught a lot, but I want to hear from people with experience.

We are curious about the eating out thing. If you have to take your insulin 15 minutes before eating do you do it at the table or in the bathroom?

What about the menu at these places, how do you determine the carbs on items if they don't have a nutritional guide?

Anything I can tell him that will make it easier?

Anything you wished you would have known before you experienced it?

Any tips and tricks are greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

John, Aaron and Kristie

Why are antibiotics at risk for being ineffective?

About a month ago, I was out working in my yard. I have allergies to the normal summer stuff like grass & pollen. That night I was having a bad case of runny nose and coughing. The next morning I woke up with what seemed like a really bad cold. Lots of sneezing, coughing, sniffling, etc etc. The coughing would get so bad that I would actually vomit from it. This went on for almost a week, until finally the cold went away. However, a month later, I still have the cough and can feel blockage in my throat or chest when I cough. I am able to cough up mucas and sometimes can't breathe because it is so thick. I don't have medical insurance to have a doctor check it out, but I need to know what this could be?

I know just enough about biology, brain function, and normal functioning to be dangerous. I have noted time lately where a "substitute word" is inserted in my flow of conversation. "Bottle" instead of cup, etc. This is much more pronouned if I am fatigued from work. I have also noted in my writing terrible mistakes such as "deeple" instead of "deeply". I am 44 and am concerned about pre-Alzhiemer's, as well as maybe some other, more exotic issues.

If you were treated unfairly for unclear reasons, when others get fair treatment and you, discrimination, man the heart-burn.

Just checking to see how many people out there presently suffering from "heart-burn"

I work in a Nursing Home and recently, we had a man being admitted into our facility. He is completely confused due to senile dementia and, what's worse, he is a wanderer! He recently tripped and fell about 2-3 times in the same week! Nurses cannot care for him 24-7, they have other patients to attend to, it's a large nursing facility with 400+ beds. What do you think should be done about this?

I had mexican food last night and was fine up until the early morning around 6 AM. The I had severe stomach pains, vomitting and diarrhea. It would all come and go every 20 or 30 minutes for about 2 hours.
Now I have a little bit of diarrhea every hour or so. The most recent was a few minutes ago and I noticed a green mucus. What does this mean? I didn't think it was really anything, it would just be some of the green peppers I ate and they weren't completely digested.
Tell me what you think, and what should I be eating or drinking so I am not dehydrated, but still won't upset my stomach again?

I would like to fast sometime. I have never fasted before. I am in a mental, physical and spiritual drought and I am looking for ideas. Has anyone here fasted? If so was it a good or bad experience and how would I start?
