i had the the implant 5 months ago (implanon) and its fantastic so far. the older implant Norplant was withdrawn as was not reliable Very quick and easy to have put in and much easier than having to remember to take the pill same time every day.it has a pearl index or zero which means everyone that was tested did not get pregnant though if anyone has please email me!!!
my periods have stopped no bleeding no cramping and no damage to my sex drive which can be one of the side effects!
you cant see it under the skin and stays there for 3 years.
i have heard good and bad things about it seems like it varies from person to person with the side effects maybe Ive just been lucky so far? make sure you do plenty of reading before hand and your doctor should be able to answer any other question you have. my main reason for going with the implant was because if i had any problems my doctor was happy to take it straight out where as with the injection you have to just wait for it to wear off and put up with the side effects

Like what? IUD's? Or Norplant? I think copper wire IUD's are great since they work for 10 years and only hurt when it goes in. Also they are being called reversible sterilization since the rates are so low. There is also a version with hormones that last as long. Norplant is good if you don't mind hormones but they have more side effects and they have to come out sooner. If you are talking about the new coil they are irreversible and are not really tested yet.

Implanon, is the best thing since contraception was created. No PMS, No periods, No hassle, No issue if you have an upset stomach, No pain when fitted, Can't see it under your skin.
I could go on for ages... had loads of problems finding the right contraception, really please I took the gamble. Take a look at this website for info

Implanon is pretty cool. It lasts up to 3 years unless you've over a certain weight, and I'm now on my 2nd with no side effects 5 years in. Thumbs up for convenience and the ability to freak people out by playing with it and making it poke out of your skin <>

Hey, I have had one for 3 months, its really convienient. But since I have had it in i have had a v. light period! but apparently this should stop soon and then no periods!
It doesnt hurt having it in, but you get a huge bandage great for making your partner feel guilty!
If you do have periods constantly the doctor can give you a mini pill aswell for a few monthe till your bady gets used to it!
Hope this has helped, ask your doc for more info, and ask how other people have goton with it as I am the only one I know with it!
