I would like to fast sometime. I have never fasted before. I am in a mental, physical and spiritual drought and I am looking for ideas. Has anyone here fasted? If so was it a good or bad experience and how would I start?

I have fasted for as long as four days. I think I enjoy 2 day fasts the best. It will clear your mind (mental), make you more spiritual if you pray, and cleanse you digestive system (you should drink 1 gallon distilled water/day).

The cleansing can be unpleasent at time, and can give you on and off headaches. Supposedly its part blood sugar and part secretion of toxin that has this effect. I thinks its true.

You don't necessarily just have to not eat food to fast. There are other ways to fast as well, perhaps such as (this isn't gona sound great haha) going off the computer and t.v for a month and using that time to solely worship God and read the bible, or maybe avoid yourself the luxuries in life like a bed or couch and you will instead, sleep on the ground just like Jesus did in his times.
Yes, i've fasted before for the 40 hour Famine for 2 days and it wasn't so great haha. Kept craving for chocolate and coke. But as long as it's no more than 2-3 days and you continue drinking water, you'll be ok or else you may damage your own body system and make yourself physically weak and tired for a week. You'll soon recover if you don't over-exhaust yourself will physical labour.

Fast does not mean to remain hungry.Don't take salt in ur food or don't take cereals in ur food remain on fruit the whole day.You can mis a meal in a day etc. This will increase ur will power and physical power and will set ur stomach

Many people do find fasting to be a euphoric expeirence but I would just stick to meditation or prayer, whatever you subscribe to. If you chose to go such a route, you would want to consult a doctor first.
