I know just enough about biology, brain function, and normal functioning to be dangerous. I have noted time lately where a "substitute word" is inserted in my flow of conversation. "Bottle" instead of cup, etc. This is much more pronouned if I am fatigued from work. I have also noted in my writing terrible mistakes such as "deeple" instead of "deeply". I am 44 and am concerned about pre-Alzhiemer's, as well as maybe some other, more exotic issues.

Aphagia means inability to eat. Asphasia means no speech, but the term may also be used to describe defects in spoken expression or comprehension of speech. And this is due to brain dysfunctions, not a result of disease of the volcal organs or of intellectual deficiency. Expressive aphasia is the same as motor aphasia. Go see your doctor.
