To clarify, I would like to know as a fact whether or not eating raw pumpkin leads to an upset stomach. Sure you can eat raw foods and not die, but you can get immensely sick (e.g. salmonella poisoning from raw eggs).

It is edible and some people think it is very tasty. You may experience an upset stomach from the raw flesh or seeds, but nothing too serious. The rich flavor of the pumpkin is brought out much more when it is toasted or baked. But I guess you might as well try it and see what you think. If you don't like it, you can always make the rest into an awesome pie! By the way there are a lot of health benefits from eating fruits and vegetables raw whereas those nutrients are often lost in the cooking process.

Yes all pumpkins are edible but certain ones are more palatable. Typically smaller pumpkins used for making pumpkin pie will be more flavorful. RawChristina on youtube makes many recipes with raw foods - including here wonderful raw pumpkin pie.

I've been told that raw pumpkin tastes like strawberries but it is DEFINATELY NOT SAFE to eat. One of nature's bitterest ironies I'm afraid.

You wasted 5 points to ask this?!?!?

Go to the store and buy a freaking pumpkin. Cut it open and take a bite?

It's RAW . . . not poisonous. Do you know the difference?

How does it taste -- YOU tell me!!

[Inner monologue: Wow . . . I wonder how people survive. Can they really be this stupid?!?!?]
