It doesn't make sense to me. Isn't it the same principal? You're still eating an animal that was once living, so why should this be any different? Isn't this kind of hypocritic?

I am not a vegetarian, but I would like to replace some of my meals with healthy vegetarian entrees. My doctor said I need to lose some weight and this is one of the steps I am going to take to help me shed the pounds. I am not really into the fake meats (tvp and such). Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Within the past year I've made a lot of lifestyle changes but I'm ready for a new level. A year ago, I stopped eating red meat (I never ate that much anyway), and eventually I stopped eating ALL meat all together. I'm interested in veganism. It seems pretty hardcore to me and reading through some websites on it, it scared me off a bit. {I'm not sure if I have the top-of-my-head knowledge to dissect labels looking for possible animal by-product derivatives!} How does one begin??

I am an actress and during the run of a stage play years ago, I was provided with a certain melon (not watermelon or cantaloupe) that calmed our nervous tummies. Nervousness made us feel like we needed to go to the restroom, but the melon helped. Only I can't remember which melon my co-star offered. Can anyone help?

All I eat is Pasta Roni, Rice a Roni, bread, sweets, Taco Bell, and an occassional salad about 1-3 times a week. I am pretty sure I'm not getting the required daily vitamins and minerals. Not even close. I really need more variety, but I don't eat red or green peppers, white or red onions, chunky salsa, green salsa, kelp, or egg plant. Please give me some suggestions.

My mother-in-law is a vegetarian and she told me that people had seen Donald Watson in the grocery store buying meat? It would seem to me that even the founder of veganism agrees that we need some meat in our diet. The fact that the guy is dead also means that he may have not been including enough meat in his diet. If he had been eating more meat, instead of sneaking to the grocery store to buy it every now and then, he might still be alive today.

Am I the only one who has noticed that all vegans are pale and sickly looking? Seems like to me, that they are suffering from malnutrition.

I know many animal rights activists who equate animals with humans yet many balk at the idea of outlawing the killing of animals. How long did it take to outlaw pedophilia? In the past children were routinely married at 13 years of age and younger. Now we see this as child rape. When a society becomes more enlightened and paradigms shift so do the laws or lack of them that bound those old paradigms. If 80 percent of America was vegetarian this idea would not seem so radical. If we would imprison a person for killing other person why not do the same when a person kills an animal. I could understand if the person was in a fight for survival but let's face it, the vast majority of us do not need meat to survive but instead use it as more of a luxury.
