I attended a function where I ate soup and a dish called "foo'foo". It was so good! Someone told me later that the soup contained goat meat, cow's foot and cow stomach (tripe). It tasted so good! Am I mentally ill to be eating such stuff and liking it?

My family always makes enchiladas during the holidays and we have always put a black olive in the middle of each one. Some say for luck, some say to ward off evil, what does your family say?

Mi familia hace siempre enchiladas durante los días de fiesta y hemos puesto siempre una aceituna negra en el centro de cada. ¿Algunos dicen para la suerte, algunos dicen guardar del mal, qué su familia dice?

I love Indian food but am still a relative novice. I never order curries or tikka masala (isn't that a phoney dish?), but instead usually go for a vindaloo, korma or rogan josh. What other dishes are good (main dishes, sides, breads, anything?). I have access to both North and South Indian restaurants, so any tips would be appreciated.

Also, is looking for un-Americanised Indian cuisine a futile effort, like looking for somewhat 'authentic' Chinese food is, for example?
