I am south african and i will tell u that it is just fab. There are various types of biltong,,but i prefer the beef that is still a bit wet with a nice piece of fat on it.
Boerewors is great as well. But u have to find a great butcher that makes it properly

I'm a south africa and just like the other, I love biltong & boerewors just as much!!! I won't trade it for any other food in the wolrd, and yeah you can only find the best where it's being made the best. That meaning in South Africa!!!

what do i think? i love biltong esp beef and yup boerewors are good if made by a professional you got to be in SA to appreciate some of these things, if you havent been there hit the road now!

I'm not south African but ever since I shared a house with a south African girl I've loved Biltong. I prefer it to beef jerky or any other sort of dried meat.

Mmm.... lovely, if you can get hold of it! I live in the UK, and the only way I could get authentic Biltong was to go to a post office in a little village about ten miles away - the owner was originally from South Africa, and used to import it for himself, and then sell some in his shop. It was a real wrench when I moved 350 miles away, and now I can't get any!!!

I'm South African, and biltong is really good, but the best quality biltong can only be bought in South Africa, you get it in loads of different flavours such as garlic, peri-peri, barbecue and such. as for boerewors, it's also good but there are some shops that sell really poor quality.

Biltong is great. I was in South Africa just two months ago and I still have some.
I bought it in the town of Graskop, just around the corner from the Graskop Hotel. They make their own and have a great selection.

Yep i have..but i'm not from South Africa..i'm from Zimbabwe (born and bred ;) ). Zimbabwean biltong is just as good. Unfortunately we don't get it here in the U.S.A and noo you can't compare beef jerky to biltong! They're like chalk and cheese. Maria b...i think you were referring to the fruit "litchie", they're very good! African litchies are the best.

My husband orders it off the internet and we love biltong! Its great really spicy and tasty.

Local is LEKKER!!!
Love my biltong, droë wors, boerewors, chips (crisps, not fries), braaivleis, potjies, fish braais, melk tert, koeksisters, bobotie, samp and beans, mealies, dried fruit, Ouma rusks, chutney etc...
Did you know that South Africa has more flavours of chips than any other country? Crisps first originated in SA!
I'm getting hungry!
