how many people know what this is? or have had it? and do you know what country it is from? my grandfather learned how to make it when he was in the navy many years ago, and it's one of my favorite dishes

CHICKEN ADOBE


1 med. onion, cut up
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
2 tbsp. cider vinegar
2 garlic cloves, minced
3 level tbsp. chili powder (reduce amount if "hot")
1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
1/4 tsp. ground cumin
4 med. skinless chicken breast halves

Blend all ingredients except chicken. In 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat, bring to a boil. Reduce heat, add chicken, cover and simmer 25 minutes. Serve over rice.

It's "chicken adobo" and it originates in the philipines it is a very good and popular dish served over white steamed rice mmmm.

CHICKEN ADOBE

Ingredients


1 lb. Chicken breasts
1 can Rotel tomatoes
1-2 c. Cheddar or monterey jack cheese (I usually use 1/2 of each)
1 can creme of chicken soup
1 bouillon cube-chicken
1 cup salsa
Couplehandfuls of pasta
Directions


Boil chicken with cube til done.
Flake with 2 forks.
Add soup, rotel, salsa and cooked, drained pasta.
Add cheese.
(I add jalepenos too cuz we like it hot!)
Bake at 350°F for 20 Min.
Or until hot.

It was the first filipino food I remember having when we lived there (when I was 7-9 years old). Still LOVE it, masarap!

that stuff is good!!!
that is from the philippines and there are many other good filipino food in stores like CHOW KING and stores like dat

i make this quite a lot. ;) its easy to make and is very delicious

its filipino food. its chicken adobo. or, if you wanna say it in tagalog, you can call it adobong manok (manok means chicken)

you mean "chicken adobo" its a filipino food most american loves to eat. its easy to cook..you must know the filipino way how to cook it..its veryyyyyyy delicious..
chicken, soy sauce,vinegar,garlic,bay leaves,whole pepper. :)

i believe it's adobo.

adobe is a building material made out of mud and pitch.
