When I was living in China, I got used to

TANG SU JI - Sweet and sour chicken
Cao You Yu - spicy calamari

As allways, I loved ordering:

Niu Rou Cao Fan - beef fried rice
Ji Rou Cao Fan - Chicken fried rice

Here in america I like SINGAPORE CHAO MEI FUN
spicy thin noodles with shrimp, beef, pork and chicken as well as
CHICKEN WINGS WITH HOT SAUCE.

For everyone who has never ordered chicken wings with the hot sauce allready on them, you don't know what you're missing.

80% of the dishes mentioned here aren't even authentic Chinese, just stuff thrown together to suit the non-Chinese palate. You most likely will not find it served in it's namesake place e.g Singapore Fried Noodles is unheard of in Singapore, absolutely no such concoction available.

And no, I don't mean it in a sarcastic way or anything. It's just the way it is. The pizza you get outside of Italy is nothing like the Italian version. Fact of life.

My fav Chinese dishes can be found at home, all done by my mother. Outside, Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs and Spicy Szechuan soup.

well i'm chinese, i live in singapore, it's nice to know that so many foreigners love chinese food as well. i hate it when i meet somebody overseas who gags at chinese food. there's such a vast variety you people won't ever get to know.

i love mee sua (hokkien dialect for this... in chinese, it's called mian xian) and ba chor mee (in chinese, it's called rou song mian).
anything to do with pork is also nice. from roasted pork rice (char siew rice/ chinese: cha shao fan) to pig organ soup (zhu zha tang).

you guys should definitely give these a try.

To be honest, I love dim sum more than an actual dish.
But then again, Walnut Shrimp is always good too. Or shimpr and Pea Pods. Yumm...
