I normally serve a grilled salmon fillet and a ham. But this year, my sister is having everyone down for a Christmas party on the 22nd, and she's serving . . . poached salmon and ham!
So, HELP. I need suggestions for alternative fish and meat main dishes. I am stumped on the fish, because salmon is such a nice size fillet and everyone loves it.
But the same people are going to her party as will be coming to my house on Christmas day. I would like something that doesn't require a lot of work.

I am having a house party this weekend and I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to make it good but not too expensive and without the house being ruined! About 30 people are coming.

I met a man who is very nice; however, he knows that I do not drink and he does. In a 2-hours time span, he had coronas and multiple shots of vodka. I don't want to get a relationship started if he is a problem drinker. I already know the devastation of problematic drinking and its' PRIORITY in one's life. For those of you who do drink, is this casual drinking???

And all animal products too, then i realises that plants are alive too, and some studies have shown that plants can "feel" fear, pain and joy! Now I have to stop eating plants too. When I have my surgery to install a feeding tube, what nutritional supplements are completely animal and plant free?

okay so i dont eat any red meat, and i used to not eat chicken either but then i decided to start eating chicken again. so ive been only eating chicken and fish for a while. and now i want to stop eating chicken again because i just cant stand how animals are killed for their meat, and it grosses me out to be eating something that was alive. i wouldnt eat ALL animals if i could, but i just CANT give up fish! i dont eat farmed fish but still...im eating an animal. what do you advise? should i just keep eating fish?

I was watching Gordon Ramsay on Hell's Kitchen and notices how harsh he is to his chefs. I was wondering how celebrity chefs would handle working for him (if they had a Celebrity Chef Hell's Kitchen). WOULDN'T IT BE INTERESTING?

How do you think the following chefs would do on Hell's Kitchen?

Rachel Ray
Bobby Flay
Tyler Florence
Giada De Laurentiis
Alton Brown
Sandra Lee
Robert Irvine
Ming Tsai
Emeril Lagasse
Paula Deen

Who do you think would do the best and who do you think would not survive? How would these guys do? Would they be able to take on Gordon? I would love to see these chefs getting yelled at by Gordon Ramsay!

I'm trying to prevent oil from sliding down the side of the bottle. Those large plastic bottles of oil are hard enough to hold as it is without the oil making them slippery. Please mention where you bought it as well as what it looks like. Thanks!

For example, when I made curry and it called for "x cups of cooked chicken" I just cut up some raw pieces and fried them. Is there any other ways to cook chicken for recipes that call for them?

I bought these delicious sun dried tomatoes in a jar in olive oil and I opened it the other day for a salad. I stuck the jar in the fridge and the oil coagulated and is solid now. How is this supposed to be stored? Do I have to heat it up now to soften the oil again?

My sister may be staying with my husband and me over the Christmas holiday. The problem? My sister is anti-meat. My husband is anti-vegetable. My challenge to you is to give me recipes that I can easily convert to be acceptable for both of them. I don't really want to have to cook two dinners every night, but I want us to be able to eat together. I am not a vegetarian, so I'm unfamiliar with how she eats, and I want her to feel welcome to stay with us. I'm excited to surprise her with menus that accomodate her. Are you up for it? Can you help me?

Hi guys,

I've been vegetarian for 10 years now (I switched at 14) and as of last week went vegan. I am trying to lose some weight so I've made sure to do a couple of things:

a.) cut out *all* prepackaged food/snacks--it's all about baby carrots and fruit in that regard.
b.) eat about 50% raw food.
c.) Drink only soy milk, rice milk and green tea (1 cup coffee with soy creamer in the morning)
d.) exercise about an hour a day, with three meals a day at small portions.

Physically I feel great and my clothes are more loose, however, this isn't reflecting on the scale. My scales seem to suggest I've lost only 3 pounds.

Eating a majority raw food diet shouldn't I have lost a bit more? Or does it take a week or two for a person's body to really get with it?

Also (sorry guys) I am just finishing up with menstruation, is it water weight?

Cheers! :)
