how does alcohol affect you

How does alcohol affect me? I'm 20, have never had a legal drink, and I'm an alcoholic. Although I've been sober for over a year, I know that alcohol would affect me in only negative ways. One drink would lead to more and within a few days I would be drinking daily - vodka most likely. The day after drinking I would start to have tremors... first starting in my hands then (if I didn't medicate by drinking more) taking over my whole body, dry heaves, and sweats. I wouldn't be able to sleep (unless I drank more) and my hair would start to fall out by the third day. I probably wouldn't study for my finals, be able to do a good job at work, or be in any means, be a functional member of society. I know this because I have been sober and relapsed and that is exactly the effect that alcohol had on me. I drank for many of the same reasons as Potato (see earlier post) and just one drink would lead me right back. But hey, this is what it would to do me. I know lots of people who do not react this way to alcohol and I can respect that too.

Well, Im an alcoholic, who drinks to cope with chronic depression and anxiety, which in both cases it tends to exacerabate, but I continue because drinking myself into oblivion is easier than coping with the fact that I really hate being alive and find little joy in sentient existence. When drinking socially, I drink very little and tend to just be a little more relaxed but when alone I often dont stop until I have finished the bottle. I usually get real quiet and antisocial rather than rowdy or obnoxious. Because I drink regularly, I rarely get hangovers, when I do its because I didnt drink enough water or I drank too fast.

Too much alcohol might lead you to act uncontrollably. This may also destroy your life and, in the worst case, mar your reputation and take you to a jail.
I also think overcoming and rehabilitating yourself from alcoholism are hard and may take time. It may cost a lot, too, I guess.
Excessive amount of alcohol can be a cause of serious diseases.
So taking moderate and proper amount of alcohol, and understanding the fears of alcoholism are important and necessary.
I'm light drinker and I never want to be a sacrifice of alcoholism!

It slows down your motor skills but gives you the illusion of being faster. It makes your heart race, your kidneys slow down, causes burns to your esophagus, stomach ulcers/lesions. It kills brain cells (face it, some people don't have many to spare), slows brain function and cognitive ability. Wreaks havoc on your liver which can lead to necrotic liver disease (and because you did it to yourself you won't be put on a donor list). It can also send you into a deadly pancreatitis spiral which is so painful you won't remember it if you survive. Your pancreas provides valuable toxin removal and produces bile which helps you digest your food. That is just your insides. People who drink heavily suffer from very foul smelling profuse sweating and halitosis which effects the people around them. They age about 5% faster than people who don't drink, and are less able to concieve.
