Pineapple contains vitamins and enzymes so fresh is better. Canned pineapples go through the canning process which uses heat. Heat destroys some of the vitamins and enzymes.

I think its got a lot of vitamin C. Just don't eat too much b/c the acidity will bother your stomach.
