Almost all preparation methods of baking ask us to preheat oven. What happen if we don't. I bake food without preheating the oven all the time, the food looked and tasted fine for me. Is it about loss of nutrition? I don't know!

Any special recipes? I've never made meatballs before. (I'm a vegetarian and newly married. I'm trying to get better at cooking meat for my husband.)

Thank you!

I'm going to be cooking for an awesome girl, but since I'm working nights this week we only have one hour between when she can arrive and when I have to leave. I'm not a super-chef, but I do want to impress. She specified nothing with pasta/chinese/mayo (yeah she's picky), so I need ideas that are basically 1. easy 2. don't include pasta/chinese/mayo and 3. we can enjoy within one hour (it's from 4pm to 5pm). Thanks!

OK,OK. Ive read a zillion ways to boil corn on the cob and anywhere I find on the internet (Martha Stewart included) tells me to boil the corn for 10 minutes and its done and perfect. I object. Ive done this before and it comes out uncooked. I once had a sister-in-law cook me corn by steaming it for 5 minutes, it obviously came out horrible but no one was willing to tell her.

My wife cooks corn for a good hour and I feel that might be too long.

Ive read to throw in some sugar, throw in salt, even to throw in vinegar.

Which combination of these produces the very best mouth atering, juicy, soft corn on the cob thats not raw or overcooked?

Thanks!

I just leave the milk in the fridge like I'm supposed to, and it develops these icy chunks inside. I wish it wouldn't.

They always turn out flat and rock hard on the outside, and undercooked on the inside...with like a crust on the top. What is going wrong? I've tried about 5 times.

The recipe calls for 3 eggs, 1 1/4 cups of water, and 1/2 cup oil, plus the cake mix. I know I can sub applesauce for the eggs, but how much should I use?

I'm planning a senior party in two months. I don't throw parties very often, at least not since 6 years ago. so far there's gonna be swimming, eatting and karaoke but i want to add another activity like a game (not a little kid game) or something else. Any ideas on how to make it fun and not so cliche?

I am having a party this weekend and the theme is Mexican food and drinks (coronas, margaritas...). I'm looking for some fun ideas for the drinks, appitizers, food, dessert, anything! I need to be able to make the recipes serve about 20 people. My husband promised everyone the party with this theme before talking to me! Besides tacos and salsa, I'm stumped! HELP

Our gas got turned off, but my daughter wanted to cook spaghetti. I didn't know that she had taken one of our saucepans and used it in our microwave to try to boil water. The plastic melted off, the metal was glowing red, and there was steam and a foul smell emanating from the microwave. Now it seems fine, but I'm afraid to cook anything in it in case somehing happens. What should I do? Serious answers ONLY!!!!!!!

I used Bar-B-Q sauce as a replacement for Liquid Smoke because I couldn't find any in the Supermarket. I also took the ketchup out of the recipe.

Marinade

Bar-B-Q Sauce
1 tsp Salt
1/8 pepper
1/8 Oregano
dash Onion Powder
dash Parsley
2 Chicken Breasts
Marinate over night

What would you add to the recipe or take away?
