I have heard anywhere from an hour to a day. I really need to know because i plan to go on a road trip to the coast and pick some up. I dont think it would be wise to keep a large tank in my car for that long, for fear of water damage on the new upholstry, so i would prefer that they stay out of the water.

and i browned them.. but i dont think all of them were cooked all the way through.. so i put them in my sauce and they have been boiling for like 20 minutes... how much longer should i boil them in the sauce before they are ok...
im kinda new to this whole cooking thing... or at least cooking whole meals by myself so any tips would be great!!

I am cooking for a date on Saturday and I need some help with finding a recipe. I'll be cooking boneless, skinless chicken breasts but I'm not sure what to cook. Something that is easy, I'm not a talented cook. I was thinking something with pasta? I need some kind of side dish. I'm coming out of a long-term relationship where neither of us drank alcohol, so I know nothing about social drinking. I don't plan to drink now (alcoholism runs in my family), but I do want to be a good host and keep some drinks in my house for when I have people, and especially dates over. What kinds of alcohol should I stock that most women will like and how do I store it?

There are several areas with vinyards and wineries in SB....a couple i can think of are solvang, and los olivos..and there are several more areas/communities. I know that there are several wineries/vinyards in each community.

From all of the communities that you know of..which do you recommend?

2 things i needed to know, first is how to cook it. an second i tried to make some last night an i didnt wash it off, wondering if that is bad. an when i was cooking it, there was this tiny piece that was still not cooked all the way, the actual grain was cooked, but there was this little curly piece that wouldnt cook. is this normal?

i make spanish rice alot but for some reason when my cousin makes it hers comes out hard & im not sure whyy.. i follow the boc & my comes out nice & cooked & soft. She follows the box & it comes out to hard-like. What should i tell her to do? is she cooking it to much or something? help lol

I've always been a veggie and I'm proud of it and I have a lot of good reasons, but I'm really bad at arguing the point. I don't need to convince the world that it's a better way to live. How can I avoid having to explain myself every time I eat out and request the veggie meal? I travel a lot and in other cultures they really don't get it and I'm sick of trying to explain it, or having to go through the same conversation a million times over... any ideas on how to just skip over the issue and talk about something else?? At the moment I have a Black & Decker and I hate the thing. It is louder than a F-16, the blade it too high of the bottom so there is always chunky bits in whatever gets blended and it is terrible at crushing ice.
Which blender do you recommend? I'll pay up to $100 for the perfect blender. Slow and fast are the only speeds it needs.
