I used Bar-B-Q sauce as a replacement for Liquid Smoke because I couldn't find any in the Supermarket. I also took the ketchup out of the recipe.

Marinade

Bar-B-Q Sauce
1 tsp Salt
1/8 pepper
1/8 Oregano
dash Onion Powder
dash Parsley
2 Chicken Breasts
Marinate over night

What would you add to the recipe or take away?

I would think that Oregano would be rather lost in this recipe as it is delicate and more for pasta dishes! Add a couple of cloves of Garlic, A couple of shakes of Tabasco sauce, and the same of Angostura bitters (Only a little of each) 1 heaped tsp tomato puree, 1/2 tsp dried ginger. You may find a ketchup that says it has a smoked flavour , if so give a dash of that. Turn the chicken e few times prior to cooking!

I would omit the salt as the BBQ sauce has enough already. Omit the oregano as it would get lost under the other flavorings. I would also add garlic powder(just because I really use garlic a lot). You would not need to marinate overnight but if it's for convenience sake it won't hurt it either. Bonn appetite.

Have you tried the Chipotle Tabasco sauce?
That would give your BBQ sauce substitution a good deep
spicy note.

Also try adding a splash of vinegar to the marinade ...
the acidity in the vinegar but not really enough to tenderize the chicken> will help the
other flavors get deeper inside the meat.

Sounds good, if you have some garlic powder (NOT garlic salt) add a dash of that, but, basically, you have a good recipe there......easy and straightforward.....You didn't, however tell us how you were going to prepare the chicken....on the Grill?? Baked?? Broiled??? I would go with the baked then broiled method, to crisp up the skin.....just a suggestion!! Enjoy!!

Halloween is such a great time for a baby shower! Are you having all the guests come in costume? Here are some ideas for food: 1. Fruit punch with an ice ring. In the ice ring, freeze plastic bats and such. Make the punch out of 1 can frozen margarita mix, 1 can frozen lemonade, 1 can frozen orange juice, 2 litres 7-UP or Gingerale and 4 bottles flavored sparkling water. 2. Olive tampenade on puff pastry with goat cheese. Buy puff pastry sheets and roll into a rectangle. Spread with premade black olive tampenade and sprinkle with crumbled goat cheese. Roll up jelly roll style, cut into 1/4 inch slices and bake until puffed and golden. 3. Lil Smokies in crescent rolls served with hot sweet mustard. Cut unbaked Pillsbury Crescent rolls in half to make equal halves and place a smokie in the center. Roll up and bake until golden and puffed. 4. Mini meatballs in marinara sauce in a sourdough breadbowl. 5. Vegetable platter with ranch dressing 6. Artichoke and Crab dip with blue corn tortilla chips 7. Olive medly 8. Platter of cured meats such as sopresatta, salami, and prosciutto. 9. Cheese platter with Manchenga, Mushroom Brie, Irish Cheddar, Fontina served with crackers and crisp green seedless grapes. 10. Dessert Platter with brownie bites, macaroons, lemon tarts.
