We are throwing an 80th birtday party for my grandpa and I need some ideas on how to decorate the cake. I would like to do a 2 tier square cake. I don't want it to be too stuffy looking. I am a pretty accomplished decorator so don't be shy on the difficulty of your ideas. thanks

Why is it that when I look at the expiration dates on milk products, as the % of milk fat goes up so does the self life? Skim milk may be a couple of weeks while heavy cream may be a couple of months. Why is this?

I need to avoid ANY Chrorde, Sodium, and Salt for the next 25 hs. It seems EVERYTHING has Sodium in it. Dinner for 1 tonight, my mum is out...I'm a good cook but I want something quick and easy. These are a few of the things I can use that we have

Cheese (Brie)
Spinach
Pasta
Tomatoes
Baguette
Bacon
...and we also have the essentials like milk, eggs etc.

I've got 5 quid to spend to buy any ingredients I want. I'm gettin hungry so speed is an issue :)

Thanku for any suggestions (unless they are buy fast food - I wanna MAKE my dinner)

i recently went to a dinner party and was embarrassed. someone made a nice spinach dip inside a giant bread bowl. i wanted some of the bread and spinach. nice presentation -- but how do i go about cutting and eating this?? are u even supposed to cut the bread - why put the spinach dip in the bread if u can't eat it.....
