I am from the mid-Atlantic and I know that it originated here, but I was just wondering how far they ship it out.

For those of you who don't know, Scrapple is basically scraps of the pig (heart, liver, snout, fat, etc.) that are ground up and mushed together along with some yummy spices. Then it is formed into a loaf. People usually slice it and fry it up and serve it on a sandwich or with eggs.

It SOUNDS nasty, but it is hella-yummy!!! I guess I don't think about what's in it too much. I was raised eating it even though my dad is a butcher and I have seen it made!!!

Oh child, it's here in the deep south. We love our bizarre meat products just as much as everyone else. My mom used to slice it, coat it in flour, then fry it and serve it with baked eggs and toast. My kids won't go near it, but they're horrible little food snobs preferring easy mac to Pennsylvania Dutch fare.

I'm from Arkansas, and I've heard of scrapple, but I don't think it's very popular in this neck of the woods.

I grew up in Iowa, and had never heard about it until a friend went to the east coast. (It's weird, Iowa's a hog capital!) And I moved to CA and nobody knows of it and it's not in the stores either.

I'm from NM and it is available (limited) here. You have to know where to look. My mother grew up here and ate it as a child.
