Food & Drink - 13 March 2007

Some recipes say 3-5 days, but I started makign it on Friday, and now, almost 5 days later it still tastes like bubbly apple juice. When will it get a more "alcoholic" taste? Does it have any alcohol content yet? The fermentation has almost stopped, there are few bubbles. Will aging increase the strength? Thanks.

ok heres the story ppls my teacher and i were arugeing about fish if its meat or not becuz i eat seafood and im a veggitarien i belive that since it doesnt sweat its not meat and futhermore its is cold blooded so it is not consided meat then my teacher is like its meat cuz i say so and im like ^^ ok (i was smiley and crap bcuz i dunt want to b mean 2 her)and im not sure if fish/seafood is meat is it?i want to prove her that im right for once

Where I live I can't get hold of dashi, mirin, ready made soba soup. All I can get is miso, dry soba noodles and wasabi, what could I make a tasty Japanese-ish broth from?

I live in California where liquor is readily available for purchase in almost every grocery store. I go to school in Alabama where only beer and wine are available in grocery stores. It's so annoying to have to go to the liquor store to buy liquor. What is the reasoning behind the difference in Alabama? Are there any lawmakers out there trying to change this law?

i made some guava jelly with some sugar and lemon juice and just the juice from the pulp. when it was warm it was fine. once cooled it got so hard that i can not spread it on bread. how can i get it to soften? add pectin? donno. does anyone know? pls help.
