Theres lots of organic food being offered at the grocery stores. You might have to try different ones, it seems they all offer different items. We have an organic store and they have everything from meat to lip balm. Walmart has started selling organic and its alot cheaper then other grocery stores.

As you shop remember what is offered and where. If you are on a budget than be a savery shoper. Most chain grocery stores offer organic selections but usually the options are not wide enough to sustain a healthy diet. The organic produce that most chain grocery stores offer is usually not as fresh and your selection will be limited. Honestly, the best thing that you can do both for your health, your check book and the planet would be to find a co-op or health food store near you. Try to find someplace that offers a wide variety of locally grown produce (it will be fresher, it will travel less, it will be more tasty, etc). Also look for a large bulk section. If the store does not let you reuse containers demand that they do so. That way you can keep your containers labeled for your convenience and you don't need to worry about 'contamination' (sunflower seeds in your coffee - for example). Remember that even though you may be buying 'organic' if it is processed it really isn't that much better for you. Try to stick with whole foods (grains, nuts, seeds, and as little processing as possible!

Your body thanks you, the planet thanks you, future generations thank you!!!!

p.s. don't forget to take your own bags to the store :)

There are organic things that can be found at some major food chains but you must read the labels. Other places that have more choices are wild oats and trader joe's

If you go to WalMart or Giant they have a specific section for just organic food.
