I bought a head of lettuce about a week ago. The bottom of it is starting to turn red. The leaves still look fine though. Is it still okay to eat?

I have asparagus, small red potatoes and zuchini and want to cook these for dinner. I don't know how!!! I am a take out queen I can bake anything but I don't know how to cook!! Please help me! How can I cook these things to make them really yummy? I have olive oil, vegetable oil, balsalmic vinegar, red wine vinegar and a few different spices.

I have followed several recipes for lemon meringue that are listed on this site, but I still have that metallic taste. Has anyone ever had this problem? The pies look great, first bite taste great then there comes that after taste of metallic.

OK.....I was Vegan for 2 yrs & did well till I started getting horrible headaches & itchiness after I ate soy...It turned out that I am allergic to soy!!!
I have to eat eggs, cheese & meat to take care of my protein needs & now vegetarians kinda tick me off because they assume I don't care about animals....I love animals!!!
Why should I feel bad because I have to eat normally??? Do you ever think Vegetarians are overly judgemental or Whacko???

I see the term "horizontal tannins" used occasionally in wine reviews (just do a web search for the phrase and you'll find a bunch of them). I know what tannins are, and I know what "silky tannins" are, but what are "horizontal tannins"?

There is a snack called Hot Nuts I used to buy on my trips to Mexico. I can't find them anywhere in the U.S. They are symilar to Nobby's Nuts (a new Frito Lay product). I believe the ones I'm looking for were produced by Barcel. Can anyone help?

I quit drinking all sodas cold turkey, three days ago. Sometimes I wish I could drink soda, like when I go to restaurants where they serve it and my friends drink it, but I am in no way bothered by the cravings, I find it easy to resist the soda. However, for anyone who has ever quit drinking soda, did you eventually stop craving it and prefer other healthier drinks like water or milk?

I have to make brownies for tomorrow but I just opened my fridge and realized the only butter I have left has salt in it. The recipe calls for 1/4 teaspoon of salt so should I just leave the salt out. Do you think the salted butter will put a strong salty flavor in the brownies??...I have never baked with it before, I just use it for toast!
