West of which country?
In China it would be pickled cabbage from Szechuan as an appetiser followed by a really hot chicken dish.
Indian sub-continent: a chicken dish with raisins and nuts.
Turkey: börek
Switzerland: fondue genevoise
France: Moules à la Bretagne
UK: Cornish pasty (a bit like börek)
Ireland: Irish stew
USA: Sea food platter (California)
Japan: Sushi.
Do you want the same for the southern hemisphere?

That is real Cornish Pasties (not those so called things made with minced meat) and then plain scones with Clotted Cream and either Strawberry or Raspberry Jam. Fruit scones are completely wrong. They now make a good vegetable only pasty in Cornwall for the vegetarians. Ever tried Hogs Pudding, that is a kind of long sausage that you slice and then fry.
