I have followed several recipes for lemon meringue that are listed on this site, but I still have that metallic taste. Has anyone ever had this problem? The pies look great, first bite taste great then there comes that after taste of metallic.

When your making your lemon curd think of the vessel your using. Try not to use metal pots. Some pots have a coating that wont leach the metal into your mix. Even with the egg whites think of where your whipping them is it with a mixer then you should be alright. Cooper? Should be ok too. I assume it's in your lemon curd.

Are you using a tin or aluminum pie plate? The acidity in the lemons might react. Use a glass pie plate. Acid and aluminum do not go together (same with cooking tomatoes in an aluminum pot.)

Always use a glass or ceramic pie pan and use a pinch of cream of tartar with the LEMON part of the pie.
Good luck.
