You should store them in a clean dry container away from sunlight on your kitchen counter. If left in the refrigerator they could pick up other smells from other foods, they can dry out and moisture can affect the texture of the frosting. There is little chance of them going bad or getting ruined by sitting on the counter overnight because they are full of sugar. Have you ever seen a moldy cupcake? Not just because they get eaten quickly but it's partly because the ingredients don't lend themselves to going bad quickly - with the sugar and the bleached white flour. If you made them with totally organic ingredients where you had live grains in them - I would recommend refrigeration.

IT DEPENDS ON THE ICING. Seriously! Personally, I HATE the fridgey taste, especially with an icing that has butter. Often, homemade icings form a very light crust when left out. It holds the shape beautifully, but remains soft. If done correctly, when you bite in, you won't even know that the icing has that crust. Also, for the cake itself, I prefer to leave mine out in a cupcake container so that they stay moist and don't harden in the fridge and pick up any smells. (I keep Korean food, so it's easy to understand one reason why I do this.). But if you're storing them out, they need to be in an airtight container that has room so the iced tops won't get smooshed. Also, but it in a cool place if the icing is really soft. Is the icing has whipped cream, eggwhites, or sometimes butter, then it really has to be stored in the refrigerator, but again in an airtight container. And if your cupcakes dry out, put a slice of apple in there with them.

I would put them in refriderater because the frosting may spoil. Typically frosting needs to be kepted cool whether made from scratch or not. Also prior to using them tomorrow night I would put them out fot about 30 minutes to be room temperture so they dont taste a day old or cold best of luck

I would store non-iced cupcakes in an airtight container at room temp unless they had a filling. But I usually only ice and fill just before they are needed, giving a little time for the icing to set and dry.

Refrigerate if you used eggs to bake them. Take them out an hour before you serve.

Leave them out, but cover loosely, unless you use a cream cheese frosting then refrigerate.

Leave out but in a sealed container. Refrigeration will dry out the cake. It sucks the moisture out of it.
