It is still all quite new to me, and I have attended a 2 hour workshop, so know a few basics.
I would like to learn more. Are there any books that you would recommend for beginners on buying and tasting wine.

Although I don't want cook a large meal - does anyone have any suggestions for easy to prepare food, that can be served buffet/canape style that will help to soak up the alcohol being drunk!
Was thinking about going retro with sausages on sticks/vol-au-vents/cheese and pineapple etc.... but would quite look a modern take on this.

Have tried to bake a rice cake but it cracks during backing process in the oven:
Ingredients used: Rice flour (fresh rice soaked in water then blended), Sugar, Coconut Cream,White of two eggs, Cardamon (just enough to perfum),and Yeast.
Question ;If there is anybody who can hep, I will appreciate it ..This cake is known as ``Mkate wa Kuumua`````a speciality of Mombasa & Zanzibar Islands..

Those foil containers that they sometimes put the take out food in at restaurants for "doggy bags" and they put the cardboard top over and sort of push the sides over to keep it shut ... can you microwave them?
