Pita bread is made round and you can cut it in half and fill it with anything like tuna/chic salad, grilled steak and mozz cheese, with hot sauce. Yummm! Now I'm hungry. It's like a pocket bread. Tortilla is dif it's flour tortilla and you use it as a wrap-like beef, beans, sour cream, cheese and fold it over. Guess you can put whatever you want in either one though.

Pita bread is made of wheat the same as the northern tortillas for the burrito filled with meat & swiss cheese in Chihuahua.
Both snacks are filled with meat, but the Greek is filled with lamb and the taco is filled with chicken, beans, cheese, cow , etc.
The pita includes lettuce, mayo, mustard, pickles and the taco doesn't.
The real tortilla is flexible but resistant.
Not like a rubish from Taco Bell.

No...it is very very different.
Pita is bread. Tortillas are made from corn and water (no yeast), or flour and water.
You can make sandwiches using flour tortillas, but they won't taste the same.
You can't eat hummus with a tortilla. Well, you can, but it is terrible. That is like saying that potatoes and apples are the same.....that the only difference is whether you put cinnamon/sugar on them or butter and salt and pepper.

Pita bread has a different texture and taste.
It has a leavening agent used to make it. (makes it rise)
This makes a lighter product, more bread like.
