All answers above are good, but for ten bucks you can get an eggstractor that'll peel off the bloody egg in 2 seconds:

I always had problems shelling hard boiled eggs as soon as they came out of the pot, as they were very hot to handle and the shells stuck to the egg-whites. Then I came upon a method that works very well for me. For making hard boiled eggs, I add salt to cold water, add the eggs and place on the stove for the water to boil. When done, I place the container of boiled eggs (with the boiling water) under a stream of the hottest water from the sink. Then I turn on the cold water and increase the amount of cold water slowly, while decreasing the amount of hot water, until the water is tepid and the eggs have cooled down considerably. I have also used ice cubes to cool down the water gradually. Then, it is a breeze to remove shells from the eggs, as they are colder and easy to handle and the shells do not stick to egg-whites anymore.

after the egg is boiled and cooled, roll it around for about 1-2 min in your hands. The shell will crack. Roll it a few more times gently but with some pressure and the shell will peel of very very easy. It may even almost fall off. Good luck!

all of the answers are good and i agree.----but-----i've had the same problem with eggs and my friend lives on a farm and they raise chickens and told me that sometimes its what the chicken ate and it could be that the eggs are older, they are still good, but just older. run them under cold water and peel gently. the next time put eggs in cold water without a lid---heat to boiling--then cover---remove from heat and let sit for 30 min. then immediately run them under cold water until they feel cool to the touch---then they peel much easier.

Hi Eggie, Yes, while boiling your eggs put salt in the water. They are alot easier to peel that way.

Run them under cold water, then gently roll them on the counter to crack the whole shell. Peel gently.

After you cook them, run them under cold water, then crack them a bit, and then leave them in cold water for 30 minutes. This should make the shell come off easily.
