I have been a vegetarian for 22 years. It is neither right or wrong to eat meat; after all we have canine teeth and a digestive system to cope with it. As long as animals are reared humanely and killed in the same way then I can't see there can be a problem. Many people seem to make moral choices regarding this issue and get their opinions ready made without thinking the issues through. If I am invited to a meal and the person next to me has a big juicy steak on his plate, I have no problem with that, it's their choice and I'm not going to throw a hissy fit. My choice is vegetarianism because it is healthier, the food is more interesting, it is easier to keep your weight under control and meat production is a very inefficient way of producing protein

Eating meat is neither right or wrong, it's a personal choice. I'm a vegetarian and I feel personally that I don't want to eat meat, but I wouldn't force my views on anyone else by implying that I'm right and they're wrong. At the end of the day everyone feels differently about eating habits. You eat what feels right for YOU. If you don't want to eat meat then don't, if you want to, eat it. The main problem is that a lot people see different views as a threat to their self esteem, but if you have confidence in what you chose to eat - meat or veggie - then it doesn't matter what anyone else says about it.

Morally wrong or not, some animals, like cats, need certain proteins and chemicals found only (naturally) in meat to live. I have no problem eating it but I respect people's decision not to eat it.
PS: I tried a vegetarian diet for two months, but it didn't work for me, so I'm back to eating meat.

in this day and age since humans have irrevocably changed farm animals so much that they now need us to live (ie cows need to be milked or face death) plus the earth will be overun with domestic animals such as cows and chickens (there are more chickens than people on earth), so I guess were looking out for our population problem, eating meat is not wrong, but I find it morally harming as I cant bear the prospect of that animal living in the same place as me then mee eating it. The bible told us to eat meat I think, and humans need certain proteins which can only be found in meat (vegans lack these proteins ofcourse but you can live without them), so naturally eating meat isnt wrong, think of it this way, if we libved with the dinosaurs, they wouldnt debate much wether to eat us or not would they?

I believe that to eat the flesh of any other living being is barbaric. I am vegetarian and find that I have a totally healthy diet and by taking additional vitamins am not lacking in any nutrients. Before I became a vegetarian I was extremely picky with my food and therefore unhealthy, once I got to the root of the problem my appetite is tremendous and I now look forward to meals. Good clean eating.

You would eat grass if you were starving! If it meant that you could die or someone else could die because there is only meat left, then you have a duty to save your life and that of the other person. Normally, you can choose what you want to eat.

No. We are omnivors, evolved to eat meat and veg. However, I do think we should all consider giving up meat, just because of the modern practices associated with its production.
Out of interest, what's your take on milk? I was listening to Farming Today, yesterday, a dairy farmer was saying that his cows are kept in barns all the time.
Even if you take milk, this must be wrong.

I dont think meat is wrong. I just dont eat it. Well some things are wrong, you know eating animal intestines. But if others eat meat they can do so, i wouldnt mind. As long as i am not eating it.

Its the persons choice. I am a Vegan but I'm not so much against eating meat, I'm just against they way the meat has to live and die. Factory farming is taking over our nation and has to be stopped, its not only bad for the animals but for the people and environment too. I am also against hunting with a gun. Its cheating, you have a unfair advantage over the pray.

Personally I don't feel guilty eating meat but I don't think we need too much of it. Battery chicken is a wrong concept because it only focuses on how fast the chicken grow but not on the taste and the wellbeing of the chicken.
