I'm just discovering the joys of wine tasting.?

It is still all quite new to me, and I have attended a 2 hour workshop, so know a few basics.
I would like to learn more. Are there any books that you would recommend for beginners on buying and tasting wine.

I took a wines course at my university before I graduated, and can't say that 4 months turned me into a wine expert - it'll take time, probably more than 2 hours. :)

Still, I think the best way to discover the joys of wine tasting is 'practice' - try plenty of wines and get a feel for the differences in textures, flavors, and bouquets. Maybe get a few bottles and a few friends together and do some taste testing?

A good book is Wine for Dummies - it's pretty thorough and a decent book for people learning how to enjoy wine.

There are many groups involved in wine and cheese parties. This os one way to get to know people with this interest.

Yes theere are books about wine so a good place to begin is the art of making wine and go from there. Not that you need to know all there is about making wine but you do need to know enough to be able to talk to other peo[ple with the same wants.

no you cant learn this out of a book
my parents always have had wine for dinner

I find that i like the dryer wines
the piont greico or the savonblac (sp not in spell checker)

the red wines are bitter to me and some are just to sweet
I don't like a dessert wine even though they are good in limited quaintly

go to a wine store and talk to the seller he can help you

yes that's a very good idea. Go to a cheese and wine tasting and also you will meet lots of knew friends big thumbs up
