They are a type of dried pea that they used to sell in certain areas in the north of England at fairs etc. They were boiled for ages and then eaten in a cup with vinegar added ! I know that there are certain shops in that part of the world that do sell them but as I live in Cambridgeshire I need them posted. Booths in Blackburn sell them and they used to sell them on Rochdale indoor market.
Any ideas ?
Thanks

I always remember as a child the food at dinner was all on the table for our family of six to help themselves, and the food was always HOT. Nowadays, I can't get any of the food to remain hot. Once it hits the table, it cools off immediately. Maybe my parents had some kind of trick to make this happen (they are both gone) but it beats me how they did it. Any suggestions?

I love a nice nut brown ale on a winter's night, but I'm stuck in a rut. Theakston's Old Peculiar, Old Speckled Hen, Broadside and Abbott Ale. I don't get the opportunity to drink out much so I guess I need some pointers on decent bottle conditioned real ales that I can get from supermarkets or else order online. I'll raise a drink in the honour of the best answer!!
