Buy the smallest turkey you can find and ask the butcher to cut it in half for you. They can cut it while still frozen then you freeze one half and cook the other.

You could get a roasting chicken, which comes much smaller than turkey. Or just try to find a very small turkey. Another option would be that if you have a good butcher, just ask if they can give you half a turkey so you can have a good variety, but not too much meat. Most butchers will sell at least breasts and legs seperately, so you could work with that as well.

I buy turkey when its really cheap then cut it up and freeze it for later.
We only have two people here for thanksgiving. I like white meat he likes dark. I cut the breast and legs, the thighs and wings and freeze everything in a white/dark meat combo so we are both happy.
Thanksgiving comes and I simply take it out of the freezer the day before and bake it in the morning. Simple simple and save loads of money...ever check the price on buying just the breast of the turkey?? WOWOW its high...
For us its a win win situation doing what I do.
HAPPY FRIDAY !!

now you can order from the butcher at most grocery stores any part of the bird that you want. You can also just buy a small breast and a leg and roast them. This is easier then roasting a whole small bird. Also they have bonless breast of turkey which means you pay a bit more but get all meat for your money.
Good Luck and happy eating

While I know it's not turkey, for just 2 people I like substituting a Cornish game hen. It's the perfect amount for the two of us. Well actually I make two hens since my husband eats a lot more than me. And there's enough leftover to make stock the next day.

First of all, you really should think of a user name and not have your email showing. Just a suggestion.
Make a small turkey and freeze the leftovers in meal size batches. I have a 14 lb defrosting now to make on Sunday.
