Every state has their own set of "blue laws". They're usually between 2 a.m.-6 a.m. Some states won't sell on a Sunday at all unless you're in a restaurant. The most lax state for blue laws is of course Nevada. The booze flows freely any time of the day or night. It's just up to the state and their Alcohol Beverages Division.

Like the TABC guy said, it is up to TABC and city government. I am curious as to what county you tried to buy it in though. In Harris county, you can buy beer all day and night, but gas stations don't carry liquor. I lived in a smaller county for a long time also, but it was a dry county and you couldn't buy anything unless you registered with the city and got a special card.

Hi it has alot to do with the TABC and the city governments. the city governments have to have a referendum to decide if the city or town or even county can go wet. Then the TABC enforces the rules and regulations set forth in their rule book. so the time of cut off for sales is mainly due to the legislature and the TABC enforcement. And just to let you know I am from Texas and use to work for Budweiser, so i have had dealings with the TABC. Just to let you know in the front of the TABC handbook it says "We reserve the right to interpret the laws the way we see fit".

God bless from a fellow Texan,

Chris

i've got by no capacity heard of that rule. I even have heard that alcohol is supposedly very stressful to come back via in Utah with the super Mormon inhabitants (my aunt lives there and insists that she has by no capacity as quickly as seen alcohol everywhere there). the food market the place I artwork, you ought to purchase alcohol 7 days in line with week yet you won't be in a position to purchase it between the hours of two and 6am and that applies to every day of the week. The bars indexed here are open 7 days in line with week. The liquor shops are closed on Sunday purely because of the fact they are the gov't, it particularly is often closed on Sunday in spite of the service presented. in the event that they have been inner maximum agencies, they'd be open.

Chef is right...Kentucky is the worst because they have several dry counties. I'm in Florida and we can buy liquor 7 days a week except from 2:00 am til 7:00 am. So I can get sloshed pretty much anytime I want. hee hee
