Here is it:

S.O.S. (Creamed Beef On Toast)
1 and 1/2 pound ground beef
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teasppon salt 2 teaspoons beef-flavored instant bouillon (about 2 cubes)
3/4 cups nonfat dry milk and 3 cups warm water
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
OPTIONAL: 3 and 1/2 cups whole milk can be used to replace dry milk and water
Brown the beef in its own fat in a skillet. Drain excess fat.

Add flour, pepper, salt and bouillon to beef; mix thoroughly and cook about 5 minutes or until flour is absorbed.

Reconstitute dry milk (mix with water); add to beef mixture. Add Worcestershire sauce; heat to a simmer, stirring frequently until thickened.

Serve over hot toast or biscuits.

Each branch of the U.S. Military has it a different version of this recipe.( S.O.S. stands for something I do not wish to retype here but not what you think) This recipe made its debut about 1910. The recipe presented here is a home version of that served by the Army circa World War I.

Coach is correct about what the sos stands for.

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://biturl.im/aU5bQ

The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

In reality, it is chipped beef on toast. Here's a common recipe:

CHIPPED BEEF RECIPE

Cream Chipped Beef over Toast

4½ oz. of dried beef, can or package

1 and 1/2 cup milk

1/2 stick butter

1/2 cup condensed cream of chicken soup

2 tablespoon soy sauce

¼ cup flour

Pinch of cayenne pepper to taste

No salt. Chipped Beef Meat is very salty, that's how it's preserved. It is common to soak the meat in warm water about 20 minutes and drain before adding to the dish in order to rinse off the excess salt.

6 slices toasted bread

Melt butter in pan, add flour and simmer to a paste, add milk, soy sauce and pepper to taste stirring rapidly, bring to a medium boil. Remove from heat and lower heat to simmer. Add cooked dried beef and cream of chicken, return to heat simmering 30 minutes stirring often.Thin with water as needed. Spoon over dry cold toast.

* Optional; Use canned cream of corn in place of cream of chicken.
