Do I have to book hotel rooms for all our guests who are attending? Or will they book and pay themselves?

I just proposed to my girlfriend and she said yes! :) I want to buy her a beautiful ring, but I am not a rich man and I need some advice.

First off, I'm looking to spend $1000 to $1500 and I have no idea how much rings cost, and what I can get for that.

I'm thinking a simple but elegant white gold ring, with a moderate size diamond. A stone in proportion to the ring, that will have a nice sparkle to it. Meaning, not too small, but not a huge rock either.

What are the chances of being able to afford a pink diamond?

A. What kind of options am I looking at with my criteria?

B. What jeweler would you recommend?

I'm in the vicinity of Phoenix, Scottsdale and Prescott, Arizona.

i went to a friends wedding. it was the most beautiful wedding i had ever been to. everything was good. dancing etc.......... the father of the groom had a heart attack on the dance floor. there was a nurse at the wedding doing cpr.....while everyone watched in horror... needless to say the man didn't make it......he was gone by the time help came........ i feel bad about that. i feel worse about the pain the bride and groom r going through..... it was so planned to be a perfect day... that went so wrong at the end. at the wake wake i wispered in the brides ear what a beautiful bride she was........ not taking lightly the death of her new father in law. but her day that she worked so hard for is gone and remembered for the rest of their lives. was i wrong to feel she was cheated by the death?

I go to uni with 2 girls, Lisa* & Kelly*.

I want Lisa* as one of my bridesmaid but not Kelly*.

The 3 of us have most classes/lectures together.

Any ideas/suggestions on how I can make our future classes/lectures as least awkward as possible if I don't have Kelly* as one of my bridesmaid?

Ok, well my now fiance and I got engaged last Friday. We kept it to ourselves for the most part, for the first few days. We told just a few very close friends. Well its been 5 days and this is something extremely exciting for me, I wanted to tell the ppl I care about you know? So I kept asking my fiance, hey, when are you gonna tell your parents and my dad? And we just never had the right moment honestly. So tonight I said Brad, I really want to tell everyone. And he said ok, just do it. So I posted a bulletin on my myspace. My myspace is ONLY ppl I personally know! Well his sister saw it and called his mom, and his mom is freaking out. She was screaming crying, etc. I mean, shes upset that he didnt tell her before we got engaged. But thats our decision. Its not like we went out and got married. The wedding is well over a year away! Should we feel guilty? I mean its our choice to be engaged or not, it was going to happen anyway, talking to them or not. I feel so miserable now Should I?

My Fiance & I chose October 31, 2009 as the day we want to be married. We picked it about a month ago. We have not formally announced our engagement, but have told a few close relatives/friends.
I just heard a rumor from a family member on my Fiance's side that one of his cousins is planning to marry in October 2009. I'm thrilled for the cousin, but panicking that they could pick the date I want for my wedding!?!
I was suddenly overcome with a feeling of "they're not getting MY day!". I could care less if someone picked Oct 31, 2008 or 2010. Its just that I don't want to be vying for family on the same EXACT day/month/year.
My Fiance & I are considering rushing the order for our engagement announcements to get them out sooner and specifying "Wedding is planned for Oct 31, 2009 - Invitation to follow". We were planning on doing the announcements in January anyway so December isn't too much earlier.

Is that wrong of us? Am I panicking for nothing?

How many of you actually married your high school sweetheart.

website & was thrilled with classic bag, an asstment of 45 truffles of 3 types for abt $13. If I gave everyone one of each type in a little bag, the total cost per each would be about $2 ( assume the bags cost abt $1 each).

I was all set to start to search for bags in a wine or burgandy color that I could get for cheap. I started on my online search, got the mail & got an invitations by dawn catalog. I went through the whole catalog & while I didn't find any bags, I did find some boxes.

I also found some cookie bags. which brought me back to my first thought of doing cookies with a heart cookie cutter at the tables.

That got changed to at the end maybe with coffee "to go". But wedding in May.

Then thought since we are doing a donation & having bud vases as centerpieces/take aways, don't want too much.

But still want something edible.
So, what would you prefer as favor:

three bagged lindt lindor truffles at beginning

or

cookies at end with bottle of water?

I have like 2 days to figure out what to get. I've only known the bride for about 6 months, but hardly spend any time with her.(She's a teacher and is usually grading papers everytime the group gets together.) She's "registered" as Victoria's Secret, but that doesn't fit within my budget. HELP!

The wedding is in March/2008 and I have nowhere to have a reception. There will only be about 50 guests and I need a reception hall that will allow me to bring my own caterer and a DJ for dancing. Please advise.

I've contacted the courts and their judges only do weddings at the court house, we want to be married but can't do so in the Catholic church at this time and don't want to be married by another minister. I've tried online and in the phone book and no luck, the courts couldn't tell me of anyone either. Do I have any other options besides having a friend ordained?

My only brother is getting married in a few months and I am trying to think of a good gift to get him. I am an unemployed college student so I don't have much money. I am hoping to find work soon and what I am thinking about giving him $1000 cash. Is cash too impersonal? My brother just bought a house and I think he is planning on taking a trip to Hawaii after the wedding so I am sure he could use the money. Also I am going to be best man at the wedding. We really don't know many people in this area so I doubt we will have much if any kind of a bachelor party (I really don't think he is expecting a party) so I want to make up for that with his gift. I am currently working on getting my pilots license so I would also like to take them on a trip some where maybe a few months after the wedding.

So is $1000 cash and a trip somewhere a good gift? Can anyone suggest a better gift?

thanks
