I recently received a unique looking handmade wedding invitation from my grandpa's niece whom I haven't seen and heard from since I was 5 years old. We're both in our late 20s and the same age but I'm older than her by 6 months. Since I don't know her very well because we both live in different states, she lives in California and I live in New Jersey, do you think a gift card like Olive Garden,Walmart,Target, etc would be an appropriate wedding gift? I don't feel comfortable giving cash because it's easy to blow it off on useless things. What do you think?

I've been invited to a lake side wedding in a week. I'm not sure on how to handle going dateless. I am 34, single, overweight, and going with my mother, step-father, and my 2 daughters.

I'm getting married and i beleive i should have all that i want on my wedding but my fiance dosen't want to rent out the place i want beacuse he wants to get married in a church, i love church but i want to do something diffrent, i go to church every sunday okay maybe i miss a few but 99.9% of the time i go. My plan was the Tea garden in San Fransisco beacuse its beautiful and we have to book it in 2 months advance or more, i feel like that just beacuse he's paying for the wedding, and he's older, he feels that he has complete control over the wedding, what should i do? Is he being unreasonable or am I

This has happened for 5 years.

Examples, deaths in the family, not enough money, family arguing, etc. etc.

I am planning my wedding for next January (2007). My fiance and I are on a very limited budget - I'm a chef/teacher and he is a full-time student planning to graduate this December. I need any money saving suggestions and location ideas (in the Dallas, Rockwall, Hunt, Collin County areas of Texas) anyone might have. I will probably end up doing my own cake unless anyone knows of someone great and cheap, but I don't really want to do my own catering - at this rate we may not even do food. Please help!

My husband and I are both in a Byzantine Catholic Wedding this weekend. The couple is having a full mass and it will be about 1 1/2 hours. We are not Catholic and have never attended Catholic services let alone a wedding. I am a Methodist and our service was short and sweet so I don't know what to expect. Also, I know there are specific things that you do or don't do at a Catholic Wedding depending on if you are Catholic or not. Any help or insight would be appreciated!
