At work, my boss is always trying to monopolize on my "cuteness." Women comment on my good skin and nice hair when I'm working the register. Toothless old men tell me I'm pretty and all the guys must be after me. Sadly, I was asked out by a mentally retarded man who comes in every now and then. Yet, no guy my age (20s) ever asks me out. They pretty much don't talk to me. I'm about ready to tell everyone to shut up when they comment on my looks. I just don't get it.

I have been in an abusive relationship before.. my ex hit me so i ended up fighting back, we went to counceling and the counceler told me to stop fighting back and the violence would stop ... it didnt, so i got out of the relationship and evtually that woman who told me not to fight back got fired.

It has been years since that happened ive had a couple boyfreinds since then and just got engaged again, He was wonderful!! and promised never to hit me, he knew my past and wantd to kick my exs *** but i never let him.. He asked me to marry him last januaray and i accepted.... of course, military man, whole nine yards... well i hurt my back at work last friday, all the muscles on my left side were pulled.. i asked him to stay so i wouldnt be alone and ended up waking him up, cause he was kneeing me while i slept and hurtong my back even more... he got upset... words were exchanged and he got up to leave. I rolled over and tried to stop him from leaving... not my intention on waking him

I have had really bad luck in dating. I've even been told several times I'm to short, Is this being shallow? The women I have been out on dates with have all been shorter or just as tall! I am only 5'5" I know not the tallest but is this all in my head or have I had just bad luck with women that are to shallow?

I know this woman i've been friends with for four years now. When we first met, she really seemed to be interested in more than that. She always waited for me, she always wanted to talk to me, always wanted to hang out, find out more about me, etc. and the way she looked at me -- all the signs were there. Then one day, all the signs disappeared and we just ended up being friends ever since. We talked about how we first met recently and she said she never thought of me as more than a friend, ever. I was a bit confused. Did I have it all wrong in the beginning? Do women just don't like admitting being attracted? or maybe they never knew they were attracted? Just curious if i'm reading the signs wrong.

I ran into this really nice guy friday night walking down town , on the the other side of the street we made eye conntact then I waved, he said how I'm doing tonight, then walked across the street to talk to me, we had small talk, I asked him if he wants to join me where I was going, but he had to go to work in the morning, but I told him "so when are you gonna ask for my number" he smiled and asked me I gave it to him, but it's sunday evening and he still hasn't called, and I don't have his.

So why hasn't he called yet is he doing the whole 3 day rule, or is he the typical guy that says he gonna call and doesn't for a while, or is he just busy.
I know it wasn't because he thought I was to forward about asking my number, he told me he likes a confident girl,and I'm an attractive girl if that helps any. I just really hope I didn't accedently tell him the wrong number, I'm sure I gave him the right one. what do you think? I'd really like to see him again.

My boyfriend is always talking about how his life "sucks" and it hurts my feelings because it makes me feel like nothing to him. BUT, I KNOW he loves me..he tells me all the time and says that he wants to marry me,etc...

At the same time I love him but I don't want to feel like nothing for the rest of my life..how can I talk to him about this without making him feel bad (he is slightly depressed...)?

Also it will have to be over the phone or in a letter because he is away at school...I MIGHT see him this coming weekend but it's only a like..50% chance..

This new guy named matt had come into my class.
i have no problem talking to new people or guys.
but i went up to him and i said hi my names crissy and when I asked him his name i struggled to spit it out.
me and this boy have been friends for 3 weeks.
and i really like him I cannot sleep at all.
I always think of him. but just a few days ago i found out 10 other people liked him.
but my bff Sally sais that he likes me all the time....everyone sais he likes me but when i see him he's always giggling with my best friend jess. I think he likes her...
but everyone tells me he likes me.
I'm really jealous right now and i cannot stop thinking about it...

No, I'm not 13 years old, I'm just shy of 21. And pretty shy as well. Mentally, I'm just too shy and negative to ask girls out, or deal with liking a girl. I've been on one date (she basically told me to ask her out) but that's it. I always worry about what other people (people that I know, which is basically family) will think about me. I've been in college for 3+ years, surrounded by hot girls, and have managed to not ask a single one out. When I like a girl, I instantly think of the negatives, and blow it for myself. Some people on another forum said I'm just not ready, and I don't think I ever will be.

The guy I think is hot is kinda "ghetto"... thats the word i use where im from. its the style he wears.... he wears baggy pants & sports jerseys and nikes & stuff like that.... hes latino..he wears stuff from the city ..ya know. he sat behind me on the bus the other day & i could feel him staring whole in my head...& he let me get off before him, where as other guys just plow right by you... & he held the door for me... & we smile at eachother all the time... & he was standing a few feet away from me the other day & nodded at me & had his friends turn around to look at me. none of my friends know who he is so we're assuming he's new like me. & he stares at me especially when i or him walks by eachother..& i was sitting by myself on the stairs and looked up & he was looking down at me from the balcony directly above & winked & was like "hey" so i was like "hey" & he smiled & walked away then his friend looked down at me & walked away 2. he'll turn around & stare at me as he walks away.

I am SO good at giving my friends great advice but I can not seem to follow my own advice or listen to other people when theyre trying to help my personal dating life.
Am I the only one or is this way common ?

I am currently seeing a guy who is 34 years old, hot, smart, funny and has great job/education.
But is also completey EFFED IN THE HEAD.
He jokes about being mean to people, he taunts me with other girls chasing him, he speeds, he drinks a lot. his last job fired him. he pines for his hot ex girlfriend (i used to model professionally so idont feel intimidated)
still i havent followed the advice i would give my friends on a guy like this. I shouldve run far away from him already.

How can I learn to take my own advice ?
Why is this so hard ?

I think I am falling for him now though because he is devoted to me due to the worry of wanting to be in a more STD safe relationship. I broke up with my boyfriend the other day. It was a long distance relationship, and it was starting to take it's toll on me, so I ended it. I asked him if we could still be friends. He never did anything wrong to me, but I have a lot of problems and issues that he shouldn't have had to deal with. But I love him, and I miss him. Everybody keeps telling me I did the right thing, but I don't think I did. What do I do now? we broke up about a year ago because we kept arguing and I was really jealous and insecure. He wanted to spend more time with friends than me and I didn't feel valued. We split up and now I'm over him I'm not jealous anymore.

He doesn't know it but he plays mind games, When I want him he'll say he's not interested, but when I play it cool and go out with other guys he says he wants to be with me again.

I love him so much as a friend, and I wish we could be together, but I say no because I know he hasn't changed, and doesn't know what he wants.

What shall I do? I've told him the mind games have to stop, he denies them and so I said I don't want to see you again.
