Singles & Dating - 26 April 2007

I'm 21, I've never gone on any dates, except for the prom. I'm starting to feel like I'm really missing out on a lot of stuff. A collegue gave me an ultimatim. By Wednesday I have to at least approach someone and asked if they'd like to hang out, on campus preferably at the cafeteria. I was brought up very conservatively. I don't like drinking or partying. The last time I tried to ask someone out the person ended up being taken and it didn't end very prettyly. I'm still a little haunted by it. How do I do this?

i have been with the guy i have been dating for like 8 mouths we get in alot of fights is that a good thing and how do i know when hes up set with me i mean he really dose not talk to muhc about his feelings i know i love him but how do i get him to open up to me more i know hes been hurt in the past by other females so i know he gets scared of loseing me i mean i am the kinda female that dose any thing for my dude

i told him how i felt on tues and he replied he liked me back and wanted us to work something out toghter.

He said things like
i dont see these feelings going away...
i would be an idiot to let u slip away...
if it were down to me youd be my girl ect

and i was really pleased
some issues are he is friends with my bro and sis who are alot older also my brother in law and knows my parents well. and i am so much younger

last night i text him agian saying id been thinking about what was said ect

and replyed he didnt want to jepordise any frienships ..
wanted to leave it for now
then he said he would be there for me and maybe we should chat!

i am so confused does he like me or was he trying to blow me of, if he was ehy didnt he do so when i first text him.

i still really want him and need to talk to him but i dont want to seem needy.

Would you ever date someone who is obese?? I'm not asking this quesiton for me. I've started to take notice that alot of people are really cruel to people who are overweight. I'm just wondering if u would date them?? and would u be worried about how ur friends or family would feel about it?? i know i asked this question earlier but i realized i didnt word it very good. thanx

I just want some opinions on this:

I've known this guy for about six months or so now. My roommate introduced me to him so that I could help him with his calculus homewok. I told him back when we first met (like 3 weeks after we first met) that I liked him, but he didn't want to get into a relationship back because of a bad break up. We talked for hours about all sorts of stuff. He stayed to talk when we were finished tutoring and even though he failed (there was no hope lol) we're still friends.

He's a Marine who was recently deployed to Africa. I write him like once a week and we talk occassionally on AIM when he has the chance. Recently he said to me, "Yeah, pretty much you rock! Always enjoy getting stuff from you, and you are the only person who actually takes the time to write!" and then he finally asked for my phone number and said he would call me...

So, I'd just like some honest opinions of this whole situation. Thanks!

I've heard alot about men saying I always knew that I would marry her!
My boyfriend told me that he wants to marry me but when we're ready, we've only been together 8 months. Yet I don't know is there a way to tell if a man is thinking about you in a marrige future type or if he's just with you.

I love him but I'm scared about the future I feel like I'm giving my all, I just want to make sure that we'll end up together in the end for real.

I hear a lot of times women say they are going to marry their boyfriends they day dream about where they will live talk about how many children they want to have and then BOOM they break up, and she's left heart broken!

How do you prevent that?

I found a picture in my b/f phone of another girl that was texted to him. Under the contacts list it was under Charlie (a boys name) but it was of a female. I don't know if he's trying to hide the fact that it's a girl and just put it under a boys name or if one of his guy friends sent it to him. All the other girls he have in his phone are under the right names under his contacts though. He cheated on me 2 years ago and I still feel like I am being over zealous (paranoid) for no reason but at the same time I know all about the other girls. I have met them already or it is one of his co-workers and I met them too. Please Help a Distraught Woman!!! I really do love him though and plus we have a 4 month old together. I really am tring to get past the past but I am SCARED. Should i confront him about it? I don't really think that's smart b/c he will know I was in his phone.

His ego is through the roof, he keeps referring to himself as a "rockstar" and bragging about the details. "oh she gives good head" or "oh she gave me head in the bathroom, I'm a rockstar". Meanwhile he knows I haven't had sex for months, no luck, even though I've been trying. How do I deal with this guy's inflated ego, and how do I cope with it. It's really annoying.

I am dating a really great guy, we've been together 6 months and he is a really mature, responsible person who would do anything for me. Cute, has goals, a good job, is smart with his money, good family. We are both 24. When I am with him, it's like he's perfect for me, but then at other times, I feel like I panic because at this point, if he asked me to marry him, I would say no (not that he's trying to) but it's just the point- if I don't want that by now, will I ever? He's so perfect for me, but then there's always the thought in my head, what if there is someone I feel so much more for and I just haven't found them? Basically, I feel like I still want some freedom,( terrible breakup 2 years ago, long time to get over) but at the same time, I want him to be there if I decide that he is the person I should be with. That sounds terrible, but it's true. I will never cheat on him, but I just kind of wish there was room to "explore" on both parts. Don't think he would go for that though

i am not miserable just because im single!!! i think its cool being single. i can look at as many guys as i want(but i dont have s*x with them LOL--im still a virgin). why do so many people think that just because im single that im miserable?? that is so not true. being single gives me more time to look for thr "right" man. i am still looking :). but can i be so miserble for being single??? i am 17 and i think finishing school is more important than dating!!! i will date eventually, when MY time comes!
