How can you tell when a man cares about you?

lets say you dont know this man very well but you sense that there is something there between you two. How can you tell (from his actions) that he cares about you?

If he does little things for you that normally wouldn't be done, like getting you some candy in the check out counter because he remembered you mentioned that you liked that type or stuff like that.

If you are running a flu, and if he asked you whether you are alright and offer you a tissue or flu medicine. It shows that he cares about you.
