Have you dated someone even though your family didn't like them/agree, and its turned out great for you?

Or did it not turn out very well??

If your family doesn't agree (and the partner hasn't done anything too bad) If it will make your family unhappy should you stay away, or tell your family to let you be happy?

okay, me and my ex have broken up..we have been apart for a while, he found another girlfriend and changed for the bad, well when she broke up w/ him..he called me and said i was always on his mind and couldnt shake me...and i feel the same way..we have been talkin' for awhile and like he finally told me that he still likes me but he hasnt asked me out...and i told him that i still like him and we spent 5 hours on the phone just talkin' and ever since then i cant get him outta my head cuz we have SO much in common and it scares me cuz im so young and i dont know what to do...he told me when we were on the phone that he can see him going back out w/ me cuz im cool, easy to talk to, fun to be around...and i just wanted him to ask me out rite there but he didnt and i dont know if i should ask him...but i dont want him to say "no" cuz he still likes me but he dont...im confused...n e thing u can give me will be helpful...thanks...oh and please dont leave any stupid responses please...thanx

i'm in the 7th grade, 13 yrs old
love is a weird thing at this time
the guy i like isnt the type to show emotions much and not many ppl like him but i am and i do like him. i find that he completes me (total opposite thing) and he already knows i like him
he's shown me times where he really cared about me instead of teasing me like as usual
the same thing happened lest year. i want to get over him but a little something inside me says that theres hope
all those times where he acted out of character and had been sensitive and caring.....makes me keep hope. but he knows i like him and told me that he wasnt ready for a girlfriend yet BUT didnt say if he liked me or not
i've felt so depressed lately.....i wake up in the middle of the night and think of him.....i see him everywhere...i cant forget him
what could i do?

I am struggling with a broken relationship. I tend to get overly involved, and invest heavily in a relationship.

Now I continually think about the past, about my wounds, about everything that happened between us, especially the bitter things.

This is giving me grey hair and beard, and worry lines on my face. I don't want all that. I want to come out of it as quickly as I can. I have been told to forget it, but it isn't easy. I am of an overly worrying nature, and the throughts haunt me every single second of my day.

I'm out of job, and so have a lot of time to sit back and worry.

Please advice me on some extraordinary methods to forget someone and get out of this situation.

I live in CA and my girl lives in WA. She left a year ago and we only knew each other as friends. I had a huge crush on her, but I didn't know whether to really try to get to know her, since she had 4 past relationships already. When she left, I gave her my number and she gave me hers. Ok my husband is stationed in Japan and on a ship, it is our first anniversary and I have no idea what to get him. He is a tech person but I really do not know what he can and can not have on the ship. I bought him a really nice watch for Christmas. For valentines I got him a speaker contraption that plays his mp3 player. Our anniversary is in March but it takes about 6 weeks to get to him, so I have to mail and buy now. He is apart of a biker group called Rough Riders but I have bought all their stuff for him. OK so I am out of ideas. I have this amazing, terrific girlfriend who I have been dating for almost a month now. I have dated her once before but I was stupid and childish because I broke up with her to persue my relationship with that one guy who has the girlfriend whom I have believed for the last three years that I was in love with him. I really want to tell my mother that I am bi because she is my best friend and we pretty much tell each other everything but I find it hard to tell her what is going on with this particular subject. We joke around with it and everything and when we watch movies and there are lesbians or gays involved, she says she is really glad none of her kids are that way. I feel in a way that I have disappointed her. Let her down in some way. I've used the method where I just go up to her and say, "Mom, I like girls." I need a way to sneak out of my house or get out of the house for a whole night.

1. i thought about saying i'm staying at a friend's house but if i'll be out all night and my parents expect to see me there in the morning, how do i get back in her house?
2. another way is sneaking out, but i live on the 2nd floor......

I feel like I'm going mad. This guy has no real reason to hate me. I do most of the chores, organise all the bills being paid (even though I hate doing it), I just speak to him like hes a decent guy.
In return, he repetitively talks about women in a nasty way (I'm female) and says English women are fat (hes French and i'm certainly not fat), says he only likes brunettes (I'm blonde, and he has said this at least 3 times in front of me). I have a long term boyfriend, so there should be no confusion about our relationship. I just don't understand why a guy would want to tell his female flatmate that she is not his sexual preference. He always seems to be saying something which hurts my feelings in a manner where he tries to act like he is oblivious to the fact that his statements might upset me. I don't cope very well with mind games, I don't know how to respond to him. What if its all in my head and I'm just too sensitive? In all other ways he pretends he is my friend. creepy?

My girlfriend and I make each other happy, and its an amazing thing. But her parents have tried to put a stop to it since she told them, and they aren't acting the same to her as they used to, and it's hurting her. Yesterday she mentioned to her dad that her and another girlfriend were going to go out sometime next week and her dad yelled at her, telling her not to lie etc. and he knew she was going to see me. She got home and cried her eyes out, and now she’s devastated her parents don’t trust her, even though she’s never done anything wrong or behind their back.
She has told me that she can't talk to them about it, it's just not the culture (she's asian, i'm white), and she has to obey them. But she's 18, and she doesn't know that giving up on us is what they want, or will help anything. But she is willing to do anything for them.
