How come people tell you to stay a kid for as long as you can, yet the moment you do anything childish or immature they tell you to grow up? Just a thought.

Any childish ideas? :-)

I guess just remain a "child at heart" and be adult in your actions. Good question! Peter Pan would love it!

Enjoy your youth. You can be relatively carefree because for the most part, your parents are the ones worrying about the big things. But if you do make an adult decision (say, deciding to have sex), do it in a mature way. Don't endanger your life or your entire future because of an immature decision.

well mainly that phrase is directed at teens to stay as a kid as long as they can so that they aren't getting themselves into adult situtions to fast. I mean there is a time and a place for everything sure im grown up now and in my twentys but i still like to go have fun in my friends dorms and act stupid i think we all do and we act like kids..but you just have to know the right time to act like an adult to..stupid growing up! lol

be a child in the way you look at things, childlike in hte way you appreciate the world around you, dont take things for granted, continue to be curious and discover new things and have fun and enjoy life - BUT be mature about taking responsibility for your actions- be accountable for all of your decisions and the consequences of your decisions - dont make excuses or justify irresponsible behavior

You make a good point. I am in my 40's but I remember that too. No ideas, sorry. Just enjoy your youth. It will be over before you know it. Have fun.

Heh! You'll prolly understand that best when you have your own kids. Basically, it means enjoy your childhood but act your age.

Maybe they really mean to say "act your age"?
