I would usually say money or a gift certificate is kinda cheezy... but i think at 16- you rather have the money than the gift - since theyre so picky at that age! Cause if not.... they want a car- your choice! ;) lol Seriously though- i dont know how old you are(they should post ages on here)- cuz if you are their age- you could probably pick out a cool gift. It also depends how well you know them... do you know what they have at home- what they like?? If you are not sure- cant go wrong with money at that age. Good luck! Oh... if you're torn.... maybe gift certificate to movies (dont teens still go to them)? Or a mall. Wow- it really depends on a girl or guy- or how you know them! Hope it helped a teeny bit!

This depends a lot on what your relationship is to the young man or woman. If a close relative or friend, then I'd suggest a gold charm for her charm bracelet, if she has one. Something with Sweet 16. If she doesn't have a charm bracelet, you could still buy the charm. She can wear it on a chain as a necklace. Either way, it's something she'll always have as a momento of a very special day. For a young man, a high end keychain. Even if he doesn't have his own car, he will definitely be driving!

For my son's 16th birthday this week, I've bought him a new hoodie, a TV series on DVD, delivery of cookies to school, and a Happy Birthday announcement on the local station he likes, and a wrapped box of all his fav snack foods......topped off with a Hallmark card, of course!
.....with love, from mom.

A car? NOT. He or she should have a sweet sixteen b-day! Bake a cake. Have all his or her Friends over to celebrate the b-day! That day, your child will be tired from all the excitement, and you could suggest the following day he or she could stay home from school.

BEST present? A trip. Their parents and their best friend. Anywhere of their choice for one week.

Go to gifts.com. It asks you a few questions about the person's personality and then gives you ideas for gifts.
