i dont really think that "something inside you" is saying to let him back. i think your trying to make yourself believe that maybe you should just let him back. why? i dont know, you probably like him a lot or maybe even love him and want to make yourself believe that he's going to change and that everyone deserves a second chance. dont do that to yourself. if the relationship was bad enough that you had to end it, then you should know that if you get into it again, your just going to end up hurt, and worse. and you're going to be saying to yourself that you knew "this was going to happen". you say it was an 'ugly relationship, i cant tell exactly what you mean by that, but it sounds really bad. but the term ugly to me usually includes these things: he cheated on you, verbally abused you, control freak, physically abused you, ect, then you know that's a red flag regarding getting back together. if maybe it happened to be misscomuniction problems or something along that line, which i doubt it cus then you wouldnt have said it was an "ugly relationship", then i would tell you that maybe it wouldnt be that bad to try it again. however it is still risky, so i hope you learn to read the 'real' signals that your body is sending you about this guy. whatever you decide to do, think about it twice.

Well, you need time to think about what went wrong and why he was wrong for you. Think about these things and how the situation could have gone from bad to worse had things progressed. Do NOT get with another guy right away. You need time to heal from your relationship and sort out why it went wrong. This will also spare someones feeling in becoming the "rebound". "Let him back" would suggest that you were together at least a considerable amount of time. Or perhaps you had a sexual relationship. If you realised that it was ugly, realise that even though people can change, he didnt want to change when it mattered most.
I hope this helps. Good luck honey.

It is lonliness....if u go out heaps with friends.... then u forget them and realise that u deserve better. That is the only way. I know exactly what u feel, and yes I did let someone back into my life the other week... but he is still the same... and has not changed although that is what deep down u hope for... once u have seen the real person, there is not much hope that they are now different... dont put urself out there to be hurt again, dont show weakness because that will shw them that u r easy to con!! Good luck!

This sucks doesn't it?? Why is it that when we have had a gut full and think we are done we are all messed up inside?? I did the very same thing--had him out after 7 months of saying get your own place and then when he did I was a nut case--The reason I came up with is that the good in him OUT WEIGHED the bad--so till death do we part--the good the bad and the ugly --
so sit down and write down the good and the bad and I bet you find the reason why you want him back is because first of all you love him and that it wasn't that bad as you think--

Your are just going to have to believe that God has someone to replace the other guy. If it was an ugly relationship, then it probably wasn't meant to be. Try picking up a new hobby or getting involved in some kind of activity. The best thing to do is to stay busy and always, always have faith.

You've just gotta keep going. About 2 1/2 years ago, I was going through the same thing. It took a few months. Every day I was going back and forth in my mind; I didn't know what to do. I felt like I would NEVER get over it. Then, one day, I woke up and I was fine. I realized that I was missing out on a lot of the important things in my life by worrying about a stupid boy. Don't worry, things will come out alright - just don't let him back into your life AT ALL. =) Best of luck to you!

I've been there too. Just because he's bad for you doesn't mean you don't love him anymore, but you do have to be strong enough to do what is best for you. You had a life before him right? You will have one after him. It takes time, and as each day passes, you will become more at ease with your decision. If it's meant to be, it will be, but don't sacrifice who you are for something that is not doing you any good.

If it was an ugly relationship just think of the times that were ugly to convince yourself you dont want to go through that again

I know this sounds trite, but it's really true that time heals. As days, weeks, and months go by you will begin to feel better bit by bit. Be strong and be patient, no matter how hard it seems. Someone smart, caring, and unselfish will come who will treat you like you deserve to be treated. Trust me: I know this from experience. Been there, done that.
