Friends - April 2007

I'm by no means gay and 16 and female but all of a sudden one day while sitting with my friend at lunch she asks if I was gay because I never talk about guys. I am not a really open person and I hate to talk about my feelings but yet how does that me make gay? Why would someone especially my friend be so inconsiderate? I was so shocked by the fact she thinks I'm gay that it made speechless. Despite the whole ordeal I still talk to her but I don't know if I should continue be her friend. What do you think?

Basically I used to be friends with this girl and we drifted apart what with going to different colleges. But we kept in contact by phone. Now I only give out my mobile number and that is to friends. But when my teacher said my phone number out loud she wrote it down and now has my home number. She also knows where I live because she watched where I went home. This didn't make me think anything different until she started phoning constantly since last year. Not just me but my whole family, talking to them individually. Also she started prank calling the house and she got other friends involved, shreiking down the phone and chatting loud. This annoyed me but I let it go, the final straw came when my auntie had just died and she knew this. I'm at my auntie's house and she is prank texting me and pretending to be someone else. Okay guys, this is not a joke. My friend is 19 and still in tenth grade because she has "too much to do that doesn't involve school". She's "pressured" into sex with multiple partners (unprotected), and yesterday she says she was "peer pressured" into smoking weed for the first time in two years. Honestly, I don't believe in peer pressure - no one can control YOU but YOU - right? I mean, people have tried to "make" me smoke weed all my life, and I've never touched the stuff - I've had past boyfriends try to "make" me have sex with them - I'm 20 in June and still a virgin - and on top of that - I'm going to be graduating next wenter with my B.A. in Fashion Design and Business Marketing - I don't understand how she blames other people for her downfall! What can I tell her to make her turn herself around because this situation is just sad!

I don't want to sound cocky but I Know I have a good voice...but when me and my friend were singing this song she told me to sing one part and she would sing the other well when we were singing i got scared and my voice cracked I can only sing when I'm on the phone with her and i don't even sing that loud how can I get over this? (I do it to my parents too) I'll be singning in my room or the shower and I know that they can hear me but when they want to do karaoke or if they want me to sing for them I'm too shy what can I do? plzzzzzzz help!!

I am a 47 year old mtoher and I have a daugther who is 18. She is 18 years old and I feel terrible for what I've put her through. Ever since she was in 4th grade she has been harrassed so badly. It got so bad to the point where I myself would have to come to her school and bring her no field trips because students refused to let her be in there groups. I thought ti would end for her after 4th grade but it didnt'. She would run away constantly come home cryimg every single day. It hurt me. She had begged me to move but my husband and I chose to stay. We thought it would get better! It has been hell for my daughter for the past 8 years of her life. Her friends have been treating her TERRIBLE latley. Shes' not going to her prom because of her one best friend. I've been reading what she has been writing on here. She tells me everything which is good! She showed me what some people at work were saying about her the mean things. It brought me to taers. No mother likes to hear (adding more)

I would like to know what to do. Am i being over protective of my friend. maybe I just don't see it. I have known this friend for about 2 years now. she is a great person but her friend she has known for a lot longer I believe is a very bad influence. Because of their history it's hard for my friend to say no to her. She drinks & drives and I even caught her smoking up while driving. I found out that she has done this many times. I have talked to my friend many times about how I believe what she does isn't safe. but I don't think she is listening. she says it doesnt bother her. I don't know what else to do. Is there a way I can make her see her friend for what she really is.

I have a bunch of 4 online friends (all friends with eachother) we meet up as often as possible so we are quite good friends and get on well. One of them is planning a trip to a theme park for all of us for her birthday then a night in a hotel then back to the park again before going home (shes been planning this with us since last august) well recently shes made some new friends and has decided to bump me for this new one shes got

second part of the situation is that after telling me she would like me not to go cos there isnt enough room in the hotel for 5 and she doesnt want to get another room for 1 person she comes back saying i can go cos shes now found 2 other people to go so doesnt mind getting another room

third part - she has told me that if she had to chose who didnt go between me and the rest shed want me not to go

my questions are:

This person is really pushy we have been friends for 12 years. She goes on and on about being my best friend and harassing me to hang out with her. I keep finding like my foundation at her house, or I find things missing after she has been there. She blames my toddler but I tear the house apart money goes missing and stupid stuff., but she keeps leaving her stuff at my house. right, me and my best mate have had a few words these past few days... he keeps taking the piss out of me and its getting to me a bit.... we had a chat but he still needs to get some digs in - the other night he said something like oh so your still my friend then... and i said course, id never fall out to which he replied i wouldn't care either way.... that really upset me so i needed to find out if he meant it.... he says im grief and nagging but i need to know, cos it really prays on my mind...

so the other night we had been out... he told me to get out of his car, then left me outside in the cold... then shouted me back over but locked me out.... he then said summat so i got in my car and drove off....

not heard from him since...

any thoughts or advice would be really appreciated !

A friend of mine who I've known for 7 years (we see eachother every other month) seems to take pleasure in making me feel uncomfortable. Recently, she's started this sort of emotional blackmail. She's been holding onto a very unbecoming picture of me, and whenever our friends/boyfriends get together, she describes how bad the picture is, makes fun of me, and threatens to bring it out to show everyone.
So then I of course have to beg her not to. I think she gets off on having some kind of power over me. I'm getting really tired of it. Last time, I felt like telling her to get the picture just so I could grab it from her and rip it up, but that would make me as childish as she. Jokingly, I told her (in front of everyone) that I had a bad picture of her as well, and she gave me a death stare. I'm really angry.
Any suggestions?
