My sister's birthday is this saturday and I dont know what to get her! Me and my mom were going to get the fourth season of gilmore girls but it was 60 bucks and shes already getting a cell phone so my mom doesnt want to spoil her. Shes 11 years old really girly and loves funny things. Help!!

Hi, My mom has been denied Family leave for me at her job due to not being able to have specific dates when she'll be out. I have crohn's disease and im frequently sick. She's worked at her job for the given amt of time to apply for it and she had a doctor's certificate. Plz help me, i need to know is this legal and if not i need documents stating this. Thanx

Im writing a story- it involves adoption but I know nothing about it. In the story a woman gets pregnant but leaves the baby's father (bec. he hits her), she goes off with her new boyfriend. This boyfriend promises to help raise the baby w/her as if its his own, but she dies during childbirth, without leaving any real/ legal specifications of where her child should go incase of her death. The boyfriend keeps his promise & takes care of the child, years later the real father comes back & wants the kid. How can the boyfriend kept the child who calls him "daddy"? Would he have any legal leeway? What would he have to go through to legally keep/adopt the child? Is it even possible since he is not a blood relative to the child or to the child's mother, and the real father is still alive and well (even though he was in jail for hitting the childs mom)? What if the real dad dies? I would really appreshiate it if any1 out there could help me bec. i want the story to be as actual as possible thx

I am recently divorced and I have two sons. My ex-husband has been with my oldest son since he was two and is the father of my second son. About 2 weeks ago, I was contacted by my oldest son's biological father. I haven't spoken with him in years. He informed me that he had tried to contact me several times and spoke with my husband who never told me any of this. He wants to see his son and make up for time lost and help with expenses. Problem is my ex husband is the only "Daddy" my son knows. I know this is probably not the best way to get advice but I am not ready to approach any of my loved ones with this. I was born in cheverly, md through catholic charities. I do not know or have any documents on my father since he was reluctant to leave much information, but i do know that my mother stayed with me for two weeks prior to me being picked up at the catholic charities. Does anyone know where might begin the search? I'm apparently the only one that can open the files and since i have schizoaffective biplolar disorder i want to find out medical histories from my father and mother without asking to meet them in person. Suggestions Welcome!

when i was 6 i was sexually abused by a man, he was a good friend of my mothers, and said he would kill me if i told her, lets not go into detail, but i hide the pain by bieng the opposite i how it really feels, happy and confident, but everytime male family members kiss me or go 2 touch me (friendly way, like when you laugh.) i step back and shiver, as i see his face on them, please help me speak out to my mum.

I have family that i've known for a year and out of them i have 2 aunts that i tlk 2 often. one aunt use to call me so often when i first got in the picture but now we talk less and sometimes we don't speak for a whole month or we speak maybe once out of a week. my problem is since of lately everytime we're on the phone her boyfriend is always on the other line too. i have no problem with him he's okay but i sometimes don't wanna be on the phone whn their talking about things pertaining to their relationship becuase i really think it has nothing to do with me and for the simple fact that i want to talk to my aunt alone but she always calls him or if i call and he's on the phone she puts it on a 3 way call so we all talk. she tlks 2 him like everyday and we talk so litlle and i miss when it was just us on the phone i wanna tell her but don't want her to think i'm jealous. i know he's her boyfriend but i there are times i just don't feel like talking to the both of them it gets boring

I love my bf and we have loads of fun together. He is everything I have waited a lifetime to find. But my poor Mother. We have never seen eye to eye (I'm Dad's girl) and while she's the Queen, I'm the tomboy daughter.

So last Christmas, she asked what I got from the honey. Well I got everything I could have ever wanted. Fishing pole, lures, tackle box, rifle, bullets, etc. For my birthday, she called and excitedly asked what I got. Basketball season tickets, new slicks for my race car that we're restoring, etc.

Somehow, this Christmas is just going to kill her. I'm getting a new fire suit, helmet, and a 427 Chevy Big Block motor!

How do you cope with a Mom who is so different from you? She's always devestated when I tell her about my cool presents. And I'm thrilled with them. How to I get Mom to realize that I have the best of all worlds and am very happy? She wants to hear that I got jewelry and perfume and a sweater!

My brother is almost 27 now and he's been gay since high school. It is really getting old now. I want my brother to stop this right now and get married so I can have a nephew or niece. My parents deserve grandchildren. My parents have told him to stop being gay. He hasn't changed though. What can I do? I'm at my wits end here.

our infant granddaughter died very recently, she was our second grandchild, our first grand daughter. My daughter is expecting a girl very soon and I am not sure what to say when people ask me how many grandchildren I have. I don't want to leave out the one that died, she was one month old, but then I don't know how to address it or explain to people. anyone else have this dilemma?

I had a baby by c-section in may. While doing this the doctors found I had ovarian cancer. I had surgery in August. Because of all of this my husband ended up using all his vacation and sick time at work so we were unable to go visit his grandma that lives 5 hours away as planned. We found out that she died last night. I feel so guilty for us not being able to go visit one last time. Is it my fault and if it is, is there any way to make it up to him?
