who I'm friends with, how I relate to them when she tells me I can't be friends with them (dodge eye contact, nod curtly when made, don't talk to her because I'm mad at her parents), who I can look or smile at (like a cute little kid in a restaurant if he's annoying her). She controls way too much of my life this is just a small part. She needs to back off!

I'm fourteen, she's strict, how do I respectfully but firmly tell her to give me some space?

She is almost 12 & moved halfway across the country. She has siblings here & her mom also has other kids. Even when freinds and family from "home" send her gifts for holidays or just "thinking of you", she doesn't even call to say thank you.

We mention it to her mother & she says that she tells her to call, but that she's not going to hound her about it "since she's 11 and should be able to take care of these things..." But she doesn't. I recommended to her mom that maybe she could help by not letting her have the gifts (i.e. by not taking her shopping to spend her gift cards, or whatever) until she calls and properly thanks the person who sent it. She said that she won't do that.

What do you think?

I first saw this a few years ago and laughed at how crazy it was (my grandmother said I did not yet know what it meant to be a wife), now I read and think maybe it's on target.... what do you think?

Below are some excerpts from the "Good Wive's Guide"

Have dinner ready. Plan ahead to have a delicious meal ready, on time for his return. This is a way of letting him know that you have been thinking about him and are concerned about his needs.

Prepare yourself. Take 15 minutes to rest so you'll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your make-up, put a ribbon in your hair

Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip through the main part of the house just before your husband arrives. Catering for his comfort will provide you with immense personal satisfaction

Don't ask him questions or question his judgment or integrity. Remember, he is the master of the house...

Sarahs law in the UK?? Megans law in USA ! Morgans law in Canada? Whatever !!
The UK goverment are saying that 'Sarahs law' will just drive Pedo's underground where they will still continue their activities?
Sarah's law just says that if a pedo moves into your area you will be informed and you can make sure your kids steer clear!
Now the argument against this by the UK 'clever basta***' is that the pedos will just move out of that area and continue their activities else where!
My question:- If these pedos are tagged how can they move without being traced, is this tagging system a load of tosh, what problem do the UK 'clever bastar*** have in letting families know they have a pedo living in the area, it has been proved that in USA and Canada they can be in the area but they will be closely monitored !! If they move they will be found!
I know that most people will feel as I do pedo's should be shot on sight , but that is not this question !!
Is the tagging system a waste of time?

My son has enjoyed playing tackle football since 1st grade. Thats the one thing he has never quit on. He has always started, even at the very large school he attends. Now moving to Varsity, he looks to sit for the first time ever. He says that he's getting a raw deal from the coaches. He is a victim of favortism, but most kids are at one time or another in high school. Watching him play just in the last two years, you could see that he was so alive out there. To me, he has lifted and worked out way too very hard all year to just give in. I know its a mistake, but should I just let him make his bed?

My fiancee's father is ruining not only our relationship, but all of his relationships. My fiancee's parents went through a divorce quite a few years ago, his mom is over it but his dad is still bitter. His father constantly talks about the divorce and now has disowned his other two sons because they "took their mothers side". He is not very polite to me because I refuse to take sides. He also refuses to come to our wedding if my mother-in-law or my bother-in-law are there, in turn forcing my fiancee and I to chose sides (which I do not want to do). My parents are not together and they do not cause similar problems. We have two kids and I do not want to force them or my fiancee to stop communication with my father-in-law, but he lives to cause problems. ANY suggestions, tips or similar stories and outcomes?
