All my life I've been told my family and friends I'm selfish and self-centered. In all honestly I don't feel or think that there is anything wrong with me being selfish. As far as I'm concerned I am the most interesting person. I am being deadly serious here. I don't understand why it's so bad to be self-centered. Sure I think about my needs and wants first but what's wrong with that? I'm happy this way.
On the plus side of my nature I'm emotionally honest, I'm a bad liar. I dislike hurting people's feelings so I've never been a bully. I would never steal from anyone I knew. I could never work as a con artist, again bad liar. If a friend needed a blood donation or a kidney I would happily give it. I'm a firm believer in being fair whenever possible. I intensely dislike hypocrites. I think marriage is a gift from God and people divorce too easily. All in all I suppose from other's people's view point the only bad thing I have is I'm selfish and self-centered.
Anyone else here selfish?

I have a fmily member, my mother's brother, who is homosexual with many mental problems (I am not exactly sure of his diagnosis). He has been know to say very cruel things, make some scary threats, and is very prejudice. He lives in the house with my mother and grandmother.
Upon prior visits I had to step in and shut him up or stop him before he says any more harmful things to my children; mostly to hurt me. He is very unstable and I never left my children unattended in his pressence. It has gotten so bad where he does not want me in the house and I will not visit my own mother and grandmother in their own home any more.
My mother wants my children to visit for the summer (all boys). She will be at work throughout the day and grandmother rests a lot. (my sons are old enough to care for themselves and eachother)
My question is do I allow them to go without me? I live across the country so it's not like I can easily jump in the car and go get them if need be.

i met a guy 10 days ago but we used to be online friends for over one year....the first day i met him i was so attracted to him
we stayed for more than 5 hours together talking about nothing important
just talk
then when he went home he said that he loves me and i said that i love him too
it is going great between us
but something about his way of talking worries me because i always think and any one i tell thinks that there is something beneath that talk .......something about sex
he knows so well that i will never do that with him
and he refused to have anything official with my family till next august coz he has somethings to finish first
but we r doing so well

I have never chatted or entered a chat room. My first time going into a chat room and i met a girl by randomly clicking a name, we chat for a few weeks,she is from the same city as me (chicago). we both felt a connection, chatting conversation stklarted to turn into phone conversation that lasted up to 8 hours. i was feeling like i was falling in love with a girl i never seen in person. I finally did fall in love, and she did to, we fell in love, i asked her out but still, we never met or saw each other in person, we exchanged pics but thats it(the most beautiful girl ive ever seen). and i knew a few causins of hers from school but i never met her. her mom moved her to california and she'll be coming back this summer, the thing is we still together, we are still boy friend and girl friend. our relationship is great, its beautiful, we get butterflies wen ever we tell each other that we love one another. it feels beautiful. our relation ship has lasted 2 yrs and yet i still havnt see

Yes, I know what most people will say "just let it go, and move on, find someone else" etc etc....but I'm just curious...

My ex of 2 yrs (almost fiance) left me 5 months ago and immediately started dating someone else. Now, I'm starting to hear about rumors that were spread about me, and lies....and I'm thinking that had a huge thing to do with why we broke up. That and numerous other things.

If you truly deep down inside love a person and this situation applied to you, would you try and talk about it with the other person? Or, just move on.....

My sister and brother in law make a LOT of money and are very well off. I don't and I am a single mother to a 2 year old. In 2005 my sister let me use their Jeep. Since I was on my own and had my son to take care of all on my own (my ex has skipped out on child support and won't pay) I couldn't afford to pay for it and said I would when I got my taxes back in 06, I never did, I was struggling to keep up with my bills. In June of 06 she took the Jeep back. It just sat in her garage, they have 3 other cars. I ended up havin a lot of problems because of it, but I wasn't mad. Then in October she let me have it back as long as I paid with my 07 taxes. I was supposed to give her 2000, I gave her $350. I didn't get as much as I thought I would. She has decided to let me have it. But she is MAD. I understand why, I feel bad. I don't have the money. I know it's not her job to take care of me,but I always help other people out in any way I can, I believe people should help others. thoughts?

I have a past that is deplorable and disgusting. I turned over a new leaf when I started dating my finacee. I renewed my faith in God, started attending church again, asked for forgiveness for my past sins, and am doing my mortal best to live a better life. I prefer to pretend my past doesn't exist... everything between the age of 14 and beginning to date my fiancee last year (about 20 years) I do not think about and try not to discuss at all. I don't even associate with anyone from my past anymore and have cut ties with everyone but my family and a few close friends. However, my fiancee is plagued by thoughts of what a horrible person I used to be. How do I convince him I am earnest in my changes and that I want to distance myself from my past transgressions and continue to become a better person for the rest of my life?
